OVERWATCH
10-25-2005, 03:07 AM
I was watching the 5:30 news today, and I saw something that was real stupid. I searched the internut thoroughly for the story, but can't find it.
Anyway, what the deal is, is that in Fairfield Ohio, there is a suburban neighbourhood with a rental house. A neighbour adjacent to the rental property has repeatedly whined about a yard decoration at the rental propery, that he says is "racist". The yard decorations in question, are large stone ornaments which look like a mexican, and a donkey. Not a caricature, just a very normal looking sculpture. Infact, I'd wager that the landlord, who has owned the these lawn sculptures for fifteen(15) years, probably bought them in Mexico.
The neighbour has said that he whined to the landlord for nine(9) years to get him to remove that figures- to no avail. He says that he is embarrassed when his hispanic friends come to visit.
The whining neighbour then whined to local channel five news, who came out and saw that the figures had been moved into the back yard and covered with plastic. The news phoned the landlord, and the landlord said that he was getting ready to remove the yard ornaments(in gutless fashion, I would have told the whining neighbour to stick it up his ass).
Well, the whining neighbour is going to appear in front of the community council and seek a ban on "racially offensive lawn ornaments".
I'm going to do some more research, even if it involves calling the news station. I'm going to offer the landlord a deal, that I will take away the ornaments free of charge if he will give them to me :)
If I find out more, I'll keep everyone updated on this nosy, whining asshole and his crusade against ubiquitous "racism"
