Where is my juicy PM? :D

A mod has responded and was very helpful but I should repost this for the others to know what's going on now...

There's a creepy old fart that keeps PMing me although I have asked him not too. He's on ignore already but he keeps PMing me... like some kinda creepy raincoat weirdo freak in type.

I already delete all his PMs unread and threatened him in my last PM to forward all his future PMs right to the mods wihtout reading them. He's a weirdo, though. He's blocked from Nationalist Planet, too.

He's the type of gross old fart that you could picture parking outside of an elementary school with a raincoat, seriously.

This is kinda new, what should I do?

I truly hope your problems in this regard end here and now. We certainly do not like it when our membership gets "harrased" beyond the fair grounds of an open thread.

It must be a forum full moon cause I've noticed a few guys not taking rejection very well lately. If a chick on a forum or anywhere doesn't want to associate with you, there's nothing appropriate left to do but to leave her alone!

Not getting ur friends to bug her over it, not bugging her over it yourself... all this is psychotic, neurotic and outright predatory no matter how innocent the package is wrapped.

If a women says no, it's no... whether in type or in person. Like it or not.

It's good for them to hear that other men don't find this honorable either.

Don't delete any of the PMs in question. If we are to do anything about it, we would need your permission to login with your account and read the PMs. If you tell him to stop messaging you, and he does not cease, then we will take action if he is indeed harassing you through PM.

Are you insane? You can only be talking about me and others in that thread who I assure you were not feeling rejected, but rather perplexed by your strange behavior. The record clearly shows this. The PMs I have received support this. That you even attribute those events to some sort of unrequited male desire slightly disgusts me. The time I put into that thread is directly proportional to the 'WTF' factor that I had to investigate.

And BTW, although it hasn't been suggested, I must point out that crypto's complaint in this thread is not about me. The PMs she is receiving must be unrelated, if they even exist.

^^ I wouldn't worry about this.

No offence to Cryptoracist, she's been nice generally, but anything connected with her is, well, cryptic.

Which is why I limited the time and energy I spent following up on my WTF factor.

Nothing is as grand as a prostitute clamoring about honor and then trying to get someone banned by citing unsubstantiated evidence.
TNB, thy face is crypto.

I simply don't get why you're making this public. I have had people stalk me too on IRC and on boards. However, I never said it publicly in a channel or board but contacted Mods and Admins privately, to have the matter resolved.

If someone is really stalking you, you're inviting even more weirdos and negative attention by making public statements like this one.

Why not name the person? Then if they exist they can defend themself.

It must be just too painful and traumatic to type out the name of that dreadful e-stalker.
I can just see the headlines in a few years, "Man e-mocks prostitute on forum, gets 6-month sentence under statutes of 'Crypto's Law'."

^If someone is on ignore (i.e you actually added them to Ignore in your User CP), how can they send you PMs? PMs you could read and delete?

I've ignored someone before and I never got PMs from him.

Why don't we do a test? How about you put me on ignore and then I'll send you a PM?

I was getting flooded with threathening PMs and it stopped as soon as I added him to Ignore.

I also tested with a friend first. :) Like you two are doing.

Edit: integrity, hachiko wants you to take him off ignore.

Jewel, can you modify your post to tell Integrity that I sent the pm and he should take me off ignore now?
Thanks!

Winston

I waited to be sure. You're off it now. I got no PM and there is no message in my PM box telling me that I have a PM for an ignored member. There is simply no way to tell if you get a PM from someone on your ignore list.

Hachiko
10-10-2006, 03:52 PM
Ok, thanks Integrity for helping do this test, thanks Jewel for notifying him!
Here is the screen capture of my sent pm to Integrity.

So, now I have to ask...who was crypto trying to crucify with these allegations? How does this reflect back on her Godly self?

@integrity: Did you even get this PM after you unignored?

When I tested with my friend, I didn't.

It would be my opinion that she is doing this for attention, she has already accused myself of being another member on this forum when in fact i am not this member she claims me to be.

Another feeble attempt at seeking attentions from people "who have no affect" on her life.

Again just my opinion.

@integrity: Did you even get this PM after you unignored?

When I tested with my friend, I didn't.

No. It disappeared into the abyss.

So to recap the results of the experiment:

You cannot receive PMs from people on your ignore list.
You don't get any form of indication that an ignored person is attempting to contact you.
The PMs sent from an ignored user do not appear in your inbox after you remove that user from your ignore list.

Hachiko
10-10-2006, 04:13 PM
And the results of said experiment lead me to deduce that:
a. Cryptoracist is trying to get someone she just doesn't like banned.
b. She created a specific thread dedicated to this calling upon the admins and mods to help her with a "problem".
c. She alleged baseless and false incidents to support these claims.
d. She was proven wrong and a liar.

So, anything to add to this Crypto? Oh wait, you have me on ignore...Shall I send you a PM instead?

Fire away, you have my full permission.

Check my sent ones though, I delete them as they come into my inbox. He was put on ignore here after the one he sent last night. He has very few posts here. I think he's only using his account here to harrass me as there are almost no other posts in his account. He was on ignore at NP for weeks. I posted this... after putting him on ignore last night... then deleted it. After speaking with a mod though I reposted as you can see here just so everyone "was in the know".

But yes, feel free to sign in if I have your promise to only read the PMs from the poster in question.

I see this thread is full of posts of people already on ignore...haha I can only imagine the paranoid fray that the poster in question is them...lol

The poster in question hasn't posted in this thread in fact they haven't signed back on since I posted this thread... they stayed on until right after I posted this.

The mod that responded thought that doing this would serve to deter them... its been awful quiet. I think they were right.

Thats all that matters to me... I am sure they will stop now.

But since imagining the paranoid fray from those posting most in this thread I hope I have effectively scared them also out of having thier friends pursue me because I want no interaction with them even on the boards... that isinappropriate too.

Goody for you that you got scared...I hope you learned something today about leaving a chick alone who doesn't want to to talk to you. :p

This thread is hilarious in that it is comprised of almost exclusively the posters I have on ignore... there's no other thread on this forum where only like 3 posters showed up because everyone else was on ignore... if i could screenshot it for you... you'd LOL

Talk about guilt... this thread is like the twilight zone of stalkers then when i click around The PHora it goes back to normal.

Mods, keep an eye on these posters in this thread... they've all gathered in one place for easy identification. :p

They're all on ignore except Jewel and the mods so they shouldn't be talking to me anywhere else on the Phora. Watch em. You'll see.

It was solved as soon as I posted it.

Now we have 20 extra posts from those the mods shlould hkeep their eye on in regards to me... most of the posters in this thread are on ignore for good reason.

And I hope I scared them nicely.

BTW, I haven't read any of their posts though... still :p

Thank you for your support Jewel... it's good to see a woman helping other women deter harrassment like you did in this thread... ;)

If you hurry and go into his account he is probably holding his own incriminating evidence... :p all of it.

He hasn't signed in since early this morning... lets see how quick he signs in and starts deleting now...

Or if you can or can you undelete some of mine?

I believe it just doesn't get sent in the first place.

(Aside: Under the hood in vBulletin, actually, "sent" is not the right word. PMs are basically posts getting saved to the database, but are made to resemble a messaging paradigm)
