It was pretty much standard proceedure at the hospital I was born at, so yes. I really don't care that much either way.
However, I don't care much for the symbolic meaning of circumcision. Circumcision is basically alien to Europe and came to the West via Asia (I don't know where it began, but it was practiced in the Near East and India, to my knowledge). Those with terrible hygiene, usually the slave populations, were most likely circumsised originally to prevent infection. In time, circumcision became the mark of slaves. Then good ol' Abe, fatalist that he was, decided to embrace his shame and turn it into a source of contrived pride, a 'covenenant' with Yahweh.
If you can clean yourself, there is no reason to want to get circumsised. Unless you're a crazy Jew.

When I was younger, aged 5, I developed repeated infections in the foreskin, which was later removed at the age of 6...

As for regretting it, I don't remember having foreskin so therefore I don't really "miss it" - I had no choice in the matter, and if given the choice at that age, my response would have likely been "If it stops the pain, do it"...

Yeah I'm not saying they didn't believe that. I just stated a possible theory as to why this practice was introduced to the west. It is wellfounded that Queen Victoria had a belief that she was jewish and she circ'd her sons. Prince William was even circ'd by a rabbi. And Victorian England was pretty much the driving force behind the practice becoming popularized in the UK & Commonwealth and the US (now it remains only the norm in the US). Also Benjamin Disraeli, of italian sephardic jewish descent was Prime Minister for a time in the Victorian England era and rumour has it that he was pretty "friendly" with Queen Victoria. He is probably the individual who gave her the idea that she had jewish ancestry knowing her gullibility. So the jews may have played a part in its popularization.
