What's up with the recent increase in trolling activity? :( It is pretty annoying.

Kid B, Klipgeit, I am Larry Silverstein, etc. Are they all the same person?

These posts are pretty disgusting: http://www.thephora.net/forum/showpost.php?p=215366&postcount=51

Well the trolls are annoying, but they are being slaughtered quickly and efficiently, and to point at the silver lining, we are getting some pretty good mileage and debate out of the "female circumcision" thread.

Those are all the same person, and have already been banned.

Except for klipgeit.

Registration has been moderated in an effort of filter out the trolls before they post.

When I was a mod on another forum, and I followed the rules and did this, it got me demodded. However, I feel this staff is mature enough that this wouldn't happen.

I wonder where he is going to move on to?

I have to admit that he is funny, but remember that while it might be fascinating to watch a train wreck, you don't necessarily want that train wreck in your own backyard, you know.

Perhaps someone could give him recommendations for a forum that might be more accepting of his (lack of) taste :p

Speaking of which, Lenny has made a claim at the Speakeasy (http://www.speakeasy.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=13263&pid=123844&st=15&#entry123844) that his civil rights are being threatened here.

- I logged on tonight and found everything was going extremely slowly, and pages were not loading at all for me. I could not access any pages. (I must've tried 50 times to get various pages on phora over the space of an hour, and managed to get into usercp once, nothing else loaded). Every time I would click on anything, I would either be inexplicably redirected to fade's defunct blog (thephora.net), get a message saying "the server is too busy", or when i tried to search it would say "searches have been disabled". To test whether there was some general problem with the board (which i thought at first) or whether the admins were somehow sabotaging my account, I visited phora as a guest through anonymouse.org, and sure enough everything went lightning fast, searches, threads, everything. No error messages. I went back to the lenny account and still the same problems. The only explanation is that the admins did something to my account to ban me and keep me out without having to actually ban me. Disgraceful. If they want me banned they shouldve been honorable enough to ban me, instead of these backhanded tactics.

Anti Social made a similar claim about being "stealth banned". I get the "CPU Quota Exceeded" message sometimes too. As for the forum being faster when you browse it anonymously, perhaps it's because it renders the pages differently (without doing queries based on user information) in anonymous mode?

The site is sometimes sluggish for me, but it passes.

Lenny's constant griping is insufferable.

If such is the case, I am sporadically stealth-banned...:(
BUT! By simply closing the window and trying a new one, I end up beating the evil admin at their own game! :D

Do you not love good conspiracy theories? Lenny has been banned here how many times already? five, ten times? After his latest stunt with the mass PMing we would really not need any "excuse" to get rid of this pest.

I mean...if a serious member, a regular, has a problem then I understand that resources and time should be allocated to find a compromise. But someone who neither posts here and when he does its only to get some of his bored steam off...well...I believe the growing Phora community does not need such visits.

Trolls walk upright but hunched forward with sagging shoulders. Their gait is uneven, and when they run, their arms dangle and drag along the ground. For all this seeming awkwardness, trolls are very agile.

A typical adult troll stands 9 feet tall and weighs 500 pounds. Females are slightly larger than males. A troll’s rubbery hide is moss green, mottled green and gray, or putrid gray. The hair is usually greenish black or iron gray.

Trolls speak Giant.

COMBAT
Trolls have no fear of death: They launch themselves into combat without hesitation, flailing wildly at the closest opponent. Even when confronted with fire, they try to get around the flames and attack. [emphasis added]

Rend (Ex)
If a troll hits with both claw attacks, it latches onto the opponent’s body and tears the flesh. This attack automatically deals an additional 2d6+9 points of damage.

Regeneration (Ex)
Fire and acid deal normal damage to a troll. If a troll loses a limb or body part, the lost portion regrows in 3d6 minutes. The creature can reattach the severed member instantly by holding it to the stump.

I don't know Kid B or Silverstein, but I invited Klipgeit over here.

He's a good poster from SF: South Africa and I thought he would be a good asset to the South African section.

Please don't tell me he's messing it up here...

I will have a look at his posts.

EDIT: Ok, I think I made a serious mistake inviting him. I apologize to every one of you, I hope you will forgive me.

Are you complaining about the mod policies here? I think we've been more than fair to you. You've even been given a thread in your honour (this one). Declaring that "atheism is like fucking your own grandmother" is not a serious argument, it's a lame excuse for grossing out the rest of the forum with puerile sexual imagery.
