alright, when I want to give rep points, it doesn't open a new window for me, it just changes the entire page to the box.

You should buy a new hard drive and do a fresh install of windoze and your drivers, rather than paying someone to remove all the adware and whatnot.
Going rate is about one(1) dollar per gig of hard drive space.
I feel it's best to reinstall windoze around once per year, it clears out all the cobwebs and crap that tends to accumulate and slow things down.
Friend's computer is virtually paralyzed by adware and crap like that, I suggested he do the same, rather than waste his money on jim-cracks like lame 70ies horror movies @$10.00each that he'll probably never watch.
I am scared to do anything. I am completely computer illiterate. My cousin is a computer tech so I might have him mess around with it a bit. I know for sure that I am going to have to purchase some really good anti-virus shit.

You poor thing. Move out to California and I'll take care of all your computer problems. Hell, I'll buy you a new one.

I had this once, I even had to create another account but I solved the problem by changing my password.

but I solved the problem by changing my password.
That is what I had to do, but even then it wasn't working. Then, out of nowhere it was fine. Strange.

Due to your lower racist IQ a simple computer task takes you decades.

I believes you is right. At least I know how to turn it on all by myself, like a big girl, now. That is something I have been practicing for many years.

The simplest way to avoid adware/virus problems is to avoid using internet explorer
I use it for Windoze Update and nothing else
Install Opera or one of the Mozillas.

Anyone having login issues besides Starr?
Me, at least at home. I log in and everything looks fine at first, then I get a message that I'm using an invalid ID. Strangely, I show as beng a logged in user on the list, but I'm not.
Unless I'm under some sort of IP ban? Not sure what I could have done to warrant such a thing, but if so, well so long and goodnight, I guess. :)
Oh, and could someone please remove the "Temporary ironweed" account I set up? I wanted to post that I was having log in issues, but I couldn't even log in with that account. I forgot that such a thing is a no-no, in all honesty.

It never happened to me. But it happens from time to time that I'm unable to access Phora for a half an hour or so.

Not about bugs, but some suggestions:
1. Having a pop-up window opened when giving rep, like it used to be before.
2. Like someone already mentioned, a 'Already viewed this thread' option would be neat.
3. Returning the top-bottom order of appearance of new messages in the shoutbox. It's also hard to browse the shoutbox now because it constantly brings it back to the bottom.

I agree, especially 3. is very important! Please change it, Phora Master!
Best Regards

The rep window being the way it is is due to the current version of vBulletin.
I'll check into number 2 and 3, we should be able to flip the shoutbox around at any rate.

I've been having this problem a lot tonight:
I click a Phora link, and instead of taking me to that page it goes to a different page which has a red background and which says:
"CPU QUOTA EXCEEDED
Account temporarily ran out of CPU recources. Please close your browser and try again later."
In what is probably a related problem Shoutbox messages havent been going through 100% of the time, you hit shout and the message doesnt come up sometimes

Same problem here.
Also, I haven't been able to view the shoutbox in the actual shoutbox for a couple days. Where I should be seeing shouts, I see "loading..."
I can still shout just fine, but I have to click the shoutbox link (and constantly hit 'refresh') to see shouts.

Same here for all that was mentioned, only my shoutbox blocks for a half an hour or so, not longer.

Seems like the server is having some sort of maintenance...the forum has been impossible to use for the whole day.

This was happening last night as well. It's shoutbox related I think
Remember that each new shout has to be simultaneously transmitted to all online users, even unregistered ones. Such a process is bound to choke the server when you have 20+ people online
At the very least, the box should be disabled for unregistered users

Yes, I don't remember these problems occuring when it was. And lately there has been more and more active users online.

The forum fizzled out last night (probably because of the Shoutbox). It was down for an extended period of time.

It was on and off intermitendly the whole Euro day. This was for sure not shoutbox related as it was down also with one or two online. Me thinks the random sever fart.

One thing that could be done is take the shoutbox down temporarily, say 24 hours, and see if the problem continues, if it does then you know the problem isn't the shoutbox
the box should be disabled for unregistered usersIf it is a problem another possibility is to let the shoutbox appear only to members with more than ten posts
