Comrades:
The AKM (Avanguard of Red Youth) is the youth arm of the
Communist Party of the Russian Federation. The following is a full
translation of the article followed by the Russian text. The
original Russian article can be viewed on the AKM website:

On November 7th, the day of the 89th anniversary of the October
Revolution, supporters of leftist forces, in compliance with the
instructions of the Mayorality of Moscow, with notification planned
a demonstration of protest along Tversakaya Street. However, the
Moscow authorities refused to allow the march, claiming that it
would tie up traffic in the center of the city.

Notwithstanding the ban, considering the principles of the given
question, Communists decided to undertake the march under any
circumstances. At about 1600 hours (4 pm) several thousands members
of the CPRF, AKM, NBP, SKM, and other organizations were assembled
on Triumphal Square and thousands more were arriving.

The members of OMON, police, and soldiers of internal forces, by the
way, gathered in no less numbers. The situation was reminiscent of
a huge military operation. It pays to mention, that the attitude of
the people gathered in the square was highly focused on their
goal. A little bit of a push and a giant battle between the people
and the police could have erupted.

Seeing that the situation was heating up, the leadership of the
police backed off. After negotiations with the organizers of the
march it was decided that the demonstrators would go part of the
route on the sidewalks and in the area of Pushkin Square they would
go out onto the roadway. However, in the ranks of the police
reigned disagreement and, therefore, upon the exit from Triumphal
Square OMON blocked activists of the AKM, NBP, and SKM attempting to
divide them into small groups. The standoff lasted about 15 minutes.

The demonstrators, forming a chain by hand, chanted, "Down with the
police state!", but police began waving their riot batons. We would
mention, that in this situation our warriors demonstrated self-
control and organization. It would also pay to mention that the
march was accompanied by petty provocations by the police, who
constantly tried to drag people out of the crowd. But, Tverskaya
Street was completely filled to overflowing thanks to the dedication
and stubborness of the Communists. In the ranks of the AKM rang out
the slogans: "Revolution in place of elections!" "Third term - in
Kolyma!" "All power to the Soviets!"

At the end of the march (having taken place in spite of all the
authorities pressure) on Teatralnaya Square a mass meeting took
place with over 15,000 participants. Speeches were made by the
leaders of the Communist Party Russian Federation, the Union of
Soviet Officers, NBP, SKM. The leader of the AKM, Sergey Udaltsov,
called for the turning of the upcoming 2007-2008 elections into a
revolution, moving a united block of opposition candidates and
forming a wide front of opposition. This proposition was supported
by the participants of the meeting who began a deafening chant
of "REVOLUTION" which engulfed the square.

At the end of the meeting the activists of the AKM left the area of
the protest in an organized fashion. In summary, it can be said
that the provocation of the authorities failed, - massive battles
did not occur, and the march took place all the same (although in a
chopped up form). However, we see that the pressure on the leftist
opposition is increasing with every day, therefore it is necessary
to concentrate on preparation for the most fierce battles with the
anti-people regime.

We do not doubt that a REVOLUTION IS AHEAD!

Thank you for posting this Ogenoct. This is very heartening! Limonov's NBP is actually working with Communists? That is certainly an improvement over his insults to the working class (calling them stupid, lazy, and useless) in some of his essays I have read on the English NBP site.

The NBP has always actively participated in all kinds of demonstrations and activities together with the CPRF. Both the websites of the CPRF and the NBP link to each other. Which essays of Limonov are you referring to? I do not remember that he ever called the working class "lazy." I am actually planning to meet with some National Bolsheviks here in Moscow to find out what the deal is with that party.

Lecture 9 - WHAT IS WORTH THINKING about: THE WORKERS

http://eng.nbp-info.ru/366.html

A significant part of the proletariat is composed by young people before and after the army (that is at the crossroads of life, when their fate is not yet decided), who had spent time in prisons, unsettled failures and those who naturally are less bright than the others. 9. One can lead propaganda among the workers for another hundred years, like the RKRP does, the workers will not make the revolution. A flying column of losers, temporary and permanent, hard workers, infected by all the illnesses, physical as well as social ones, they look like a degrading class of unqualified hired workers. And if they dare to demand something then it is the payment of an arrear of salary or salary payment increase. Poor, nonviolent, they are tearful and quite in their mass. Revolution needs wild people.
10. On the most important question for every party: what is our revolutionary class, where to draw the personnel from? – NBP can answer with certainty: this is not the working class. The passivity of workers in Russia is depressing, it was such even in the years of mass uprising in 1992-1993. To realize what circumstances would it take, how they should occur, I personally cannot. The Russian worker will endure everything, the popular masochism is inexhaustible, they will work for bread, water and firewood. To propagandize such people does not make sense. We need the active part of the working youth and it will come to us but not as workers but as youth. Among the workers we need misfits. Come to us, brothers!

@ Iron Lazar:

I still do not see where Limonov calls the working class "lazy." Besides that, Limonov is quite right in his analysis. Anybody living in Russia can hardly fail to see the accuracy of his statements. After all, it was hardly a group of "workers" that initiated the October Revolution and brought it to the success that it was.

Constantin Without the workers there would have been no February Revolution. I don't disagree that Russian workers today are depressed and complacent but they will remain in such a state unless they are targeted and politically awakened by revolutionary groups. The workers brought Tsarism to its knees through their strikes and they (and only they) can do it Capitalism - to pave the way for a revolutionary vanguard to assume dictatorship such as the October Revolution.

Youth outreach is important but it should compliment proletarian activism, not overtake it.

The significance of the youth movement is that we need to get people at increasingly younger ages because so many people are corrupted in one way or another today. We need idealistic youth that don't have a list of personal infractions as long as my arm.

Gads. Is Limonov really advocating a revolutionary vanguard of the lumpen proletariat?

All he has to do is study how quickly the Black Panthers and the politicized white biker gangs fell into being nothing more than uniformed drug cartels to see what a bad idea that is.
