Here are a few pics of the Legion of French Volunteers (abbreviated LVF in French) or, Infanterie Regiment 638 of the Heer.
This first one has a good shot of this guy's medals from 1939-40, with the Croix de Guerre (can't tell if he exchanged it for the Vichy medal, the Croix de Guerre Legionnaire). The Croix du Combattant is on there as well although I can't decipher the other medals.

This one below is a good shot of Colonel PUAUD who later would be grandfathered into the Waffen SS Division Charlemagne; he was KIA in Pomerania against the Soviet Army. On the right is Guy Servant, decorated with the Croix de Guerre Legionnaire. Note his Ostmedaille (Eastern Front) ribbon and Wermacht belt buckle. Servant was on of the first 50 recruits who joined the LVF upon its creation.
