All disease are density related, and to many humans are just living too dence and too shitty in the literal sence, to survive an outbreak of an desease like ebola. If the incubation time is short, the nations able to quarantine its populations into isolated areas, and with good sanitation will survive.

Cities like Lagos is not going to survive anything like an ebola outbrake.

IIRC A few years ago foxes in Scandinavia was infected with scabies. The governments respondend by encouraging shooting random foxes to get the population denisty low enough that the epidemic burned out quickly, and to prevent the population from plunging.

As war is young angry males density dependent, we should arm the Africans while we wait for a bug, or some other catastrophy to happen and remove the excess population. They only get handweapons, but many of them, ensuring total anarchy and massive civilian loss, in case of castastrophy.

Yes, but an ample suply of handweapons wil punch holes in any quarantine set up to protect the populations from disease, or flame a civil war once the food runs out.

This year the El Niño is hitting again, and we will once more have famine in Africa. IIRC the horn of Africa is one areas that get draught from El Niño.
