Effective on the 3rd of January, I'll no longer be an administrator of the Phora. Tomorrow morning I'm off on a holiday with two friends for the next eight days or so. After that, I'll be back posting as a regular member I suppose, and on the 22nd I'll make my last post and be gone off to the deep dark evil world of the Army.

It's been fun being an administrator here. I'll resume posting when I get back from my holiday.

Heh, Australian army. I hear you guys are fighting a raging battle with cane toads. Good luck, and don't lick your opponent.

Wow.

Well, I'll be sad to see you go, Jack. You've done good work.

Best of luck to you in the armed forces. I hope you make it back to the Phora safe and sound.

Take care.

So now that the pressing goodbyes are over...

Who's going to take your place?

I hope they won't send you to Iraq. Australia needs its own borders protected, not those of some shitty little country.

Being a person that frequents racialist forums, it must seem very strange to you and probably others, but some of us give a damn about our country, and want to serve it in some way. Military service is also a life experience like none other, that can't be found in a book.:viking:
This is very true.

Good luck man. All the friends I have known who joined up never regretted it and lived to tell about it!

You can probably find at least one book that is like no other book. Furthermore, such a book can't be found inside another book. It might be found inside a library, but not inside a book.

Good luck to you, Jack. We may or may not see you around this little corner again. A lot of people move on, change priorities and passions, and sort of lose interest in the sort of thing that we do here as time goes on and their individual circumstances change.

What I can say is that there is a dearth of genuine thinkers in ALL of the true professions...and soldiery is no exception. For this reason alone, you will be an asset to your fellows.

All the best.

Good luck, Jack.

Personally, I would not join the military unless I had carte blanche to rape and plunder the enemy. Why else would I? There is no immediate military threat, as far as I can tell. If I am to destroy others for profit, I want it to be my own profit.

Another early phoraite bites the dust. All the members here signed up so much later than i did, hell not a single member of the admin team save sinclair has been here longer once jack leaves. I feel old =\

Try not to harm the cane toads while you are out there

i thought about joining the British Army in 2003 after finishing school, at the time i didn't because i'm too lazy and loved my PC gaming, now i look back and thank myself for that since i'm not a corpse in some desert now for the sake of the labour party/jews/companies with contracts.

Good luck though convict jack.

I cannot, for the life of me, see what conflicts the ADF will enter in the near future—I don’t believe they are in Iraq. Besides polishing your rifles and boots—what was the purpose of this action, Jack?

The army? What brought this on?

... I think you're probably the only regular poster here who hasn't been aware of it. I made the decision about six months ago. I just had to finish off my second year of university, wait for Christmas and New Year and go on my holiday. That's done. I'm enlisting on the Tuesday after next.

I never thought you'd really go to the army.. how long is your stint? We'll miss you ol' Jackie. :(

Six years is the initial minimum period of service.

So now that the pressing goodbyes are over...

Who's going to take your place?

I've left a vacuum behind me. There is no successor.

I cannot, for the life of me, see what conflicts the ADF will enter in the near future—I don’t believe they are in Iraq. Besides polishing your rifles and boots—what was the purpose of this action, Jack?

We're in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Soloman Islands, East Timor and we're generally the ones that kick the Pacific islands back into order when they fall apart.

It's a worthwhile pursuit, though I personally can't justify the amount of time necessary for it. I envy the motivation.

If you die I will personally dig up your corpse so I can kick your ass to punish you.
