A Polish man who tried to abduct a two-year-old child on Dublin's Moore Street last July will have the rest of his eight month sentence suspended when he gets on a plane home tomorrow.

26-year-old Pawel Tyrka, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Court today.

The court heard that Tyrka put the child in a buggy and was wheeling it away when the child's mother was alerted to what was happening and stopped him.

The child's father then came on the scene and took his daughter back.

Judge Donagh Mc Donagh, in imposing sentence backdated to July when Tyrka was taken into custody, said the case had no sexual connotation and recommended Tyrka get help in Poland for unspecified mental difficulties.

Send him home, simple as that.

His 'help in Poland' should consist of a slow, painful immasculation. No anesthesia.
