Do you think he deserved to die? Cause the fucker did killed ordinary Croats and Bosnian Muslims. I don't care about his robberies in western-europe, but the guy was clearly a war-lord, and studying his method's, i couldn't see any nationalistic reason in his policy terrorizing his own kin.

Atlas: One can never know for certain. It is for sure that the executors were gangsters, and that some people from the secret service were involved too. So it is still speculated if he was killed by the syndicate that used their connections in the official institutions, or by the state itself that used the mob to perform the execution.

Arkan indeed was a criminal, but he was that strange sort of criminals with a strong moral code, so one can't be sure what to think about him. One thing is for sure: he isn't and has never been a Serbian national hero (no matter how much some are trying to prove him to be), and the folk has always regarded him as a mobster. Nevertheless, he still was a man with balls, and that is to be respected.

I remember well the night we heard he was murdered. It was in 1999/2000 winter and we went out and bought two 20-piece boxes of beer and spent the rest of the night celebrating his death. I don't know why I hated him that much then, but I did.

If I had to make a stab in the dark about who killed Arkan I would say that Slobodan Milosevic had him killed because he knew too much and he was on his way to the courts.
