Northrop Grumman's Naval and Marine Systems Division in Annapolis, MD received a $17.6 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for development of anti-submarine warfare swarms of autonomous, networked unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) that could monitor an area. This contract includes three one-year options, which, if exercised, would bring the potential value of this contract to $44.7 million.

Work will be performed in Annapolis, MD and is expected to be complete by June 2007; June 2010 if all options are exercised. This contract was procured as a result of broad agency announcement (BAA 04-17) issued by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency via the Federal Business Opportunities website. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in San Diego, CA issued the contract (N66001-06-C-8001).
