Where do skinheads and ultra-nationalist types stand on the dissolution of the USSR? Are they glad to see it's gone because of the Nazi myth that the Bolsheviks were predominantly Jews? Or do they associate the its end with the takeover of Russia by Jewish oligarchs?

Eh, I'm not inquiring what members are skinheads. This topic is about the policies of skinheads and ultra-nationalists in Russia about the USSR.

One thing you must remember in countrys like Russia Belorus Poland
and other countrys that fought Germany is there is few true Skins but hourds of Hoolies and at times impossable to tell them apart. In Poland where I have been many times your see skins laced and brased throwing a stiff arm salute ...........you ask them "whos your enemy" and they will have no trouble at all telling you '"whoever is on the other side of the pitch" they are Hoolies pure and simple they dont give a sh** about politics or the world they live in only Football.................................................................... to be honest I dont know if it has anything to do with thier history or WWII or football ,its just the way it is

Let's just say that in general they tend to be very confused people. There are several types of Russians these days, among those types there are several shades of masochist. The Russian skins are part of that.

I would definitely agree with this statement in part, but I don't think its out of an inherent sense of masochism, but rather the upheaval and distraught that has been the result of the liberalisation of Russian society since Yeltsin (although arguably Putin has been reversing this - depends on how you perceive the relationship between the FSB and Putin's rise to power), and the desire of many Russians to find something to claim their own in terms of a national identity, and a national character-- something uniquely Russian. Some look towards communism (not out of ideological beliefs, but rather the power that was the USSR) as the means for re-creating a type of "Soviet Empire;" others look to the Russian Orthodox faith and the Patriarch for a sense of the national identity (following suit something of the old trilogy of "Faith, Tsar, and Fatherland," and then there are those who are truly confused and from what I've gathered these tend to be those groups of individuals outside of the major cities and regions who feel as if a strong sense of nationalism strikingly Russian yet reminiscent of Nazi rhetoric and symbolism. To see it with your own eyes is quite odd, and it seems to be uniquely Russian, Byelorussian, and Polish. I've seen Nazi sympathizers in other areas, but this was more out of allegiance to ANYTHING anti-Soviet, as is the case with Georgian nationalists (however few they may be).

The general feeling here is that Communism was like some kind of weather anomaly. So even if you did like it, it was basically some force of nature that just came and went without any kind of human intervention for or against. It is a very ignorant view. The masochists are those that believe the common myth that "Communism is responsible" for the situation today(the counter-revolution is, and always will be directly responsible), and they also tend to believe that Russia will be perpetually backward. Many of those people look to Western European countries and believe that if they emulate them, things will change. What they rarely realize is that they will be seen as Russians in Europe regardless of their individual actions.

So if Russia represents a land of alcoholics, criminals, and prostitutes in the eyes of Western Europeans(usually based on their impressions from their own countries), that is the filter through which every Russian/Ukrainian/etc. will be seen regardless of how "Western" he or she acts.

There is amongst that group though, the egotistical masochist, half enamoured with Russian egotism(not pride) and yet still believing that his people are somehow corrupted. Some of these people for example, claim without any proof whatsoever, that Russians are far too racially mixed, as if that had anything to do with the problem. These are the types that become Nazis usually.

Also because regardless of details, the masochists tend to have a lot of admiration for Germany.

That sounds like the insane National Bolsheviks.

I feel looking towards the West is perhaps the worst thing Russia (or any of the former Soviet republics could possibly do) in terms of trying to emulate or seek their aid in reconstruction after the fall. Unfortunately that is what is happening in Georgia under Saakashvili, and it has created a rift between Russia and Georgian. It's a terrible sight to see...self-reliance and independence from Western hegemony is in order, and this will only come through the cohesive coordination of the former SOviet republics in working together AGAINST western imperialism and hegemony.
