I scanned a page from this argentinian book "AntiCapitalismo" that Nuctemeron gave me from Argentina. It has an excellent comparison between the new left and the old left. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v652/Mazdak/anticapitalismopage.jpg
Nuctemeron, if you'd like to fill in the blanks, be my guest.
Fundamental definitions:
Old left--pragmatic. The whole ideology is shaped around getting things done. No time for questions; no time for thought. With us or against us. The Cause! The Cause!
New left--lazy, passive, whiney liberals. Get stoned and bitch about the government.

Good post outlining the distinctions between the old and new left; I've always considered myself to be of the old left variety, and find it extremely difficult to associate myself in any way with the new left. The new left movement has absolutely no direction and offers no hope for the future.

Yes, it is because of this that i refuse to associate with modern "communist" movements. I agree 100% with the old left stance. This is why i do not say i am not a socialist. because the old left embodies pretty nearly all my ideals.

I prefer the old left to the new left, easily.
The old left had passion, at least, whereas the new left is just passive. However, I find the old left disgusting. It has passion only because passion is necessary; vision realized: old becomes new.

The old left was just as dangerous. Its men just had testicles, unlike those new left faggots.

Thank you! :D To be considered dangerous by a man of your political disposition is most definitely a compliment, not to mention your recognition of the old left's testicular fortitude!

Good outline, I had been thinking a bit of how "today" feels different than "yesterday" and this just brought words to the feelings.
The new left movement has absolutely no direction and offers no hope for the future.
Agreed.

The "New Left" is rather pathetic. And then of course there's the "New New Left" as exemplified by groups like the modern US Democrats. The Left has lost its way, really. It's much worse at appealing to the working class, for instance.

Well they won back in the 70's, only it was more in the social area and not drastic in the economic marxism area. I think later or hopefully sooner in the Race "movement, will swing back to the lefty area it once had, the rightwing shit has crippled it to death. It should be noticed Uncle Adolf copied a lot of his tactics and took notes from the reds.

Yes, this is a good post. I have always categorized myself under Old Left. New Left seems like it has been written by a bunch of liberal hippies.

The new left is more influenced by "cultural marxism" than actual collectivist economics and (like neo-conservatism), is in favor of the notion of a "one world" system in which all cultures and national sovereignty's are destroyed. The old left (pre-frankfurt school), apart from being more pragmatic, had more respectable values.

To be honest I don't prefer either. Totalitarianism and Hippie potheadism both don't really go down well with me.
