Following up on shoutbox conversation/ suggestion by Ahknaton in the Phora improvement thread. This is a thread to post your own writing, art, music, or whatever. I'll get the ball rolling:

Hymn to the Cavern-Dwellers

A sudden grounded tremor
reaches out as steel teeth and rope
begin their work, to excavate the deep
hidden sounds; a trace of string unearth
the work of those

creatures kin to beast and god
but not to man, whose silent chisels rise
and fall in time with silent song
obsidian and emerald they shape
and coil, dancers, bellows, serpents

to please an unrevealed eye
to keep the darkness from intrusive light
to pay homage to ancient obscure names
whose power grows the longer left unsaid

beware the tribe of smiths who guard
the face of pools of water deep and dark
where slow and subtle changes carry writs
of things that passed before, and things to come

disturb these holy beings; this silence break
stars will stumble in their nightly dance
and all things sweep away for we
are of less consequence then that
they should live eternity unwatched.

Things Before the Word
the lord whose oracle is at Delphi neither speaks out nor
conceals, but gives a sign
-Heraclitus of Ephesus

1.What was not, burned
with desire to be

2. stirred when it was not congealed.
congealed when it was not stirred.

3. each letter a creature - the spined plosive
carapace of the guttural, each vowel touched
with abyss

4. when life was tickled, it laughed.
now we give it whips and hot knives.

5. before themselves, words are
as worms.

6. ...an animal coupling
with a number in the dirt
in the sight of the gods

7. the nose dreams of a world
set to smoke the ear
of endless moving water.
through the eyes judgement
and ritual sacrifice.

8. ...and filled the silence.

9.for worms...a cemetary
is safest...

10. the songs of burning things
songs of heaps of piled dirt.

11. if the learning of many things
made us wise, the poets
would set a place at their tables
for the innumerable dead

Here's some of my music, in pdf format.
Kyrie (http://www.mediafire.com/?dmei1ezkghe)
Gloria (http://www.mediafire.com/?0zzoc4ytjnn)
Sanctus (http://www.mediafire.com/?4y2hizgoimz)
Benedictus (http://www.mediafire.com/?ayinh5mlyct)
Motet with very repetitive wording (http://www.mediafire.com/?5jljzigcjdm) :P
Militaristic Gnomes (http://www.mediafire.com/?ejjnmoyzmnd)

I have some CGI images but they're mostly not really "high" in any sense - Project Orion renderings, temples inspired by the Third Temple and the like. This was inspired by Kipling:

When the Saxons began to hate (http://img265.imageshack.us/my.php?image=whenthesaxonsgv0.jpg) not my name at the bottom.

Nothing particularly special. I like the idea of the ship though, a shame it's illegal to blow up nukes in space. 10% of the speed of light isn't very impressive though, the Enterprise (http://img243.imageshack.us/my.php?image=warptorpedoiq5.jpg) can go faster.
