Who will win this year? I think it'll be a very open competition. My money is on Andreas Klöden.

I'm totally ignorant on the subject, but what are the other major races in the cycling world? Italy, perhaps?

The two other major multi stage races are italy and Spain. Asides from that, the one day classics and the world championship carry lots of prestige.
