Yes, this is fantastic news because he places winning ahead of $$$. They will now have the money to sign Malkin and Staal to contracts as well. I am excited that Kris Letang and Alex Goligoski will be on the defense. Signing Sykora and Sydor, plus getting Whitney and Armstrong under contract were good signs as well. Shero is hopefully going to be as good a GM as Craig Patrick was; maybe better.
