Unquestionably, there's better stuff than the rock-jazz-blues-folk products of modernity. Why not try classical? It's not as "difficult" as you might think, and it could open your mind, where rock will only widen your rectum.
Try Bruckner's 4th Symphony, as conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen (http://www.sendspace.com/file/a6gakv)

Infoterror, jewr really going off jewr rocker on this one, mentioning folk music in the same sentence as jazz, blues, and rock.
I agree though that rock music will only widen jewr rectum, but don't the sinister forces of A.N.U.S. consider that to be a good thing?

Traditional folk music had more merit, but I think classical is a better goal for future humans. Modern "folk music" is both the ancestor of rock and its spawn. I sympathize with your emotional reaction however, as I doubt much can be more fecal than the jazz-rock-blues triumvirate, nor the idiots who ejaculate over such trivialities.

I am a fond listener of classical music. More ideas for you folks:
Beethoven's Fantasia for Orchestra, Piano, and Choir in C major was written before his famed "9th Symphony" and pretty much influenced it.
Chopin's Piano Concerto #1 in E Minor
Schubert's Symphony #8 "Unfinished"

Schubert's Symphony #8
Exceptional work. Be sure to avoid Jewish conductors; they screw up everything.

This is off-topic, but is Salonen part-Japanese?

Different cultures, different values... they don't seem to "get" European compositions.
Emotionally, or artistically. They get the notes right... sort of.
I don't think Salonen is anything but Finnish. Then again, that population is sometimes similar to the Japanese, our gallant allies in the last war ;)
