Ten illegal aliens from Maghreb ( northwest Africa) died on Friday when their small boat flipped over 50 meters away from Gran Canaria's coasts, in Spain's Atlantic ocean, Spain's Civil Guard said.

The immigrants drowned when they thought they had reached land with their boat but they were only on top of a rock and ended up drowning since they could not swim due to the extremely cold ocean waters, Spain's Civil Guard added.

The corpses were recovered after the region's inhabitants called emergency squads in Risco Verde beach in the Arinaga municipality, witnesses quoted by the local media said.

Two of the six survivors were transferred to Gran Canaria's Insular Hospital to be attended for hypothermia.

It is estimated that 18 immigrants were aboard the boat, therefore two of them may have escaped once inland.

So far in 2007, the number of illegal aliens to Gran Canaria has decreased 60 percent over 2006, according to the Interior Ministry. Many boat people come here from Africa seeking a new life in Europe.

This is tragic news. Yet, you would never hear about this from the corporate media.

Hogwash. I've seen more than one story about coons drowning themselves trying to get into Spain, and how bodies wash up on shore all the time. The media love sopping over in sympathy about blacks.

This is tragic news.

Agreed, especially given these tidbits....

Two of the six survivors were transferred to Gran Canaria's Insular Hospital to be attended for hypothermia.

....therefore two of them may have escaped once inland.

Meaning that at least four of these mooching gorillas have infested the mainland. Why can't they just let the Spanish Coast Guard take care of these roving marauders with a shower of .50 caliber bullets?

This news bit is already old. But this is not more tragic than a weekend car crash.
