Yakutia’s Prosecutor’s Office has passed to the court a case against an underage girl in the town of Mirny who allegedly together with a companion murdered her father, a top manager of Russia’s largest diamond exploration and mining company Alrosa, to obtain his credit card.
The investigation showed that in late January 2007 the 15-year-old girl, identified only as B., talked her male friend, a 20-year-old resident of the town of Lensk who already had a criminal record, into killing her father, a press statement from the prosecutor’s office said.
The two murdered the man while the girl’s mother was away, severely beating him with a hammer and stabbing him with a knife and then taking the body out of town and burying it under snow. On returning home, the two took all of the money and the card, Interfax news agency reported.
The pair was detained by the police in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk, where they had gone several days after committing the murder.
Along with the financial motive, the girl had hostile relations with her father, due to her being raised mostly by her grandparents, the statement from the office said.
