My experience on a Russian forum a year or two ago was that the younger generation craved Nationalism as a way to purify Russia from its current malaise.

No, it's nothing like the brainwashed "lemmings" here in the U.S. Russia was actually invaded by Germany who, by some accounts, proceeded to kill as many civilians and burn down as much of the countryside as possible. Even if it was just a regular invasion that's as harmless as an invasion ever could be, it's still a god damn invasion. Americans have NEVER had to deal with anything like that.
