Israel beat Russia this evening which means that England need only draw against the Ustashe tomorrow to qualify for Euro 2008.

And to make life even better, Scotland has been eliminated after losing 1:2 at home to Italy.

As one despondent Jock put it on Guardian Fiver Live:

"Scotland go out in a blaze of glory... England limp through boringly while not playing. Excuse me while I weep over my haggis and deep fried mars bar accompanied by chip on shoulder."

Oh Happy Day! I'll never say a bad word about Israel again. :D

Anyway, we're to thank the Kikes too, we lost shamelessly to fucking Macedonia 2:0 in their swamp field.

We're through anyway, and doubt we'll make England bitter in coming game.

Yes that was quite a larf, however the return is being played on a properly-maintained first-world style football pitch, not a Balkan potato field like the one in Zagreb, so you won't be able to depend on such flukes again.

I think as for today, the English league is good because of foreigners, the national team isn't good anymore.

Its true, the premier leagure is swamped with foreigners, but the english squad still has a large selection of world-class footballers at its disposal; more now than maybe ever before, qualification for the major tournaments is a minimum requirement for these players. They play outstanding football for their clubs, then they stick on an England shirt, and play like women.
