Roman Cardinal Prays "In the Name of Allah"
Jordan's King Abdullah II gave a speech last Sept 13 at The Catholic University in Washington, DC. In attendance was Washington Cardinal Theodore McCarrick.
Abdullah's speech so moved McCarrick that: "His (Abdullah's) speech inspired Washington Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick to respond with a reciprocal prayer 'in the name of Allah.' "
This was reported in The Washington Times Jan 9 article titled, "Jordan's King to Speak at US Prayer Breakfast."
Catholic media at the time cleverly did NOT report this. However, this fact inadvertently came out in the Jan 9 Washington Times article.

The new Pope seems less bad for American interest then the Polack was( and seems to understand that Islam eventually threatens him)... and more genuinely conservative...

Allah is simply the Arabic word for God. Just like Muslims, Arabic Christians use the word in prayer and in reference to their deity.

Exactly. I know some christian arabs and they explicity state their annoyance and people thinking that Allah = Islam and Islam only. Don't blame them... christians in Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, etc. have every reason to feel bitterness towards Islam and muslims.

I believe it actually means "the god". I think "Lah" along is god.
German priests pray in the name of Gott. OMG!

If, on the other hand, he was intentionally praying to the 'God' of Islam, I would advocate his excommunication.

So would I, it is heresy and violates just about every dogma in the library.

Using the word Allah in any circumstance but especially in this circumstance clearly implies that is is a prayer to the muslims god. The fact that this Catholic cardinal would specifically pray to Allah in such a situation is very telling I would say

Lenny you would have made fine material for a campfire during the thirty years war :D
You sound like you are still fighting it? Infact every post you make revolves around your unhealthy fixation with catholics. We get it. The evil pope kissed the koran. Catholics are tools of satan. If its any consolation, the pope after this one is supposed to be the anti christ.
