Police senior superintendent Erika Heunis, who was found beaten to death in Graaff Reinet in the Western Cape

GRAAFF RIENET - Residents of this historical town were shocked by the cruel murder of an Afrikaner police instructor. Senior superintendent Erika Heunis, 36, was apparently also gang-raped -- before she was beaten to death with stones. She was married and has two teenaged daughters. There were supposedly three attackers, but by late on Tuesday police still refused to reveal any facts. According to a source at the police academy where she worked, she was running as usual with police students along Mountain Avenue, a well-known hiking trail outside the town. Local residents say other women have also been attacked along that trail. She was attacked and murdered about 3km from the turn-off to the road. It's not known why the students did not protect her. Apparently they had returned to the academy without her. Her attackers apparently laid in wait for her.

"When she failed to return to the academy after a while, two police officers investigated," said the source, who wanted to remain anonymous. These officers found her semi-naked body under a bush along the dirt road. Forensic specialists arrived at the crime scene from Port Elizabeth on Tuesday afternoon to investigate the murder. Police inspector Wena Theron also was unable to explain why the police specialists at Graaff Reinet did not investigate the crime scene. "A full report will be issued on Wednesday morning," was all she said.

Heunis's family was too shocked to comment on the incident. A friend of the family, who wanted to remain anonymous, said they were very shocked and sad. "We don't know exactly what happened, so we don't want to comment," she said.

Kritzinger Mey, leader of the FF+ in the Eastern Cape, expressed his shock at the cruel murder. According to Mey, Heunis's husband Garth was attending a course in Johannesburg when the incident happened. He would have flown back to Port Elizabeth late on Tuesday, and would then have been taken to Graaff Reinet by helicopter. Dave Mugglestone, principal at Union High School, which is attended by Senior P/I Heunis's two daughters Monique, 12, and Chanzelle, 13, said he got goose bumps when hearing about the incident.

"We are devastated. Her death is not only a loss for the children, but for the whole community. She was a wonderful woman."

Another resident, Christa Hahn, said residents had been warned not to use the road where Heunis was attacked. Two people were also attacked and nearly raped along this road last year, said Captain Daan Zeelie, head of the detective branch at Graaff Reinet.

Murdered Graaff Reinett police-superintendent Erika Heunis had 'premonition' -- report

She had told her students before setting off for their daily run that there 'might be criminals' along the trail they always hiked along. And it was also one of the first times that she had ever gone running without her husband - he was in Pretoria for a study-course. She had still joked with one of her students, sergeant Lindiwe Fermelen, that she should take along her pepper-spray to run ahead of them and 'spray away the criminals." Indeed, several women had been attacked along this trail before and one man had been arrested and jailed just recently for one such attack.

Captain Charlotte Marais told the newspaper that apparently the Afrikaner police academy instructor had been jogging ahead of her students -- and that they turned back to the academy after about 2,4km while she kept on running on the trail where she was found murdered later, it is being claimed.

"they went for their run at around 07:45. When she hadn't returned by 11:00, some of the officers went looking for her.

Two police officers, Captain Johan Grebe and Inspector Jannie Coetzee, then found her half-naked body beneath a tree.'

"there was a lot of blood on the crime scene and the smell of pepper-spray was in the air. At this stage we don't know if she sprayed her attackers or if she was attacked with pepper-spray.”

A post-mortem examination confirmed that she was bashed with a stone. Port Elizabeth forensic experts were dispatched to Graaff Reinet to conduct a thorough examination of the crime-scene.

LOCAL EXPERTS WITHOUT NECESSARY FORENSIC EQUIPMENT...
Local experts at the police academy and the local police station apparently didn't have the required sophisticated equipment to carry out such an examination...

Now this is tragic and repulsive.

Based on what I've been reading lately on this forum the situation in SA seems caothic and very dangerous for whites. Are whites leaving the country en masse, or they still plan to resist?

They leave in drips. The problem is the amount you may take with you which is R850.000=$120.000.
The average house of the intended leavers is about R900.000 add to this their pension-cars-household furniture-additional cash which you must leave behind.
You may, after leaving, take a certain amount out every year.

My one son is in the IT and is worth about $2.000.000
My other son is worth about $150.000.000.He is a risk manager and has his own company.

Now how would you advise these two to leave.???????????
So what do they do?????
Travel, travel, travel, and do business overseas.
This however is a drop in the ocean.

I read in the Sundays newspaper that about 300/400 are applying for jobs overseas a month.

Skilled professionals legging it in droves out of Azania

As President Thabo Mbeki on Friday tried to bring a sense of direction to the issues troubling South Africans, it emerged that large numbers of skilled professionals are considering leaving the country.

This was confirmed by estate agents, removal companies and immigration consultants.

One of them, emigration lawyer Eden Joubert, said people inquiring about quitting South Africa were "split across the race spectrum".

'The skills pool in the country is getting smaller'
Many of them were highly qualified professionals, including engineers, who had a potential to start a new life in another country with ease.

Robert Wakeling, of the 4G consulting and international technical recruitment agency, said demand for South African engineers in the international market had doubled in the past five years. "The skills pool in the country is getting smaller," he said.

The Seeff Properties Group had experienced a rush of people looking for evaluation of their properties this year, according to chairperson Samuel Seeff. His company had received 50 percent more inquiries compared to the same period last year.

"I believe there is a negative sentiment brought about by uncertainty of what the future holds," said Seeff.

Ronald Ennik, managing director of Pam Golding Properties, said the company had seen a rise in evaluations in the market in 2008 - "but we cannot say this is because people want to leave the country".

'There are coloureds and Indian professionals moving abroad as well'

Joubert said many of his clients had lost confidence in the government. "People are worried about the future of their children, their properties and generally about their lifestyles," he said.

Carla Rodrigues-Schoeman, co-ordinator of Master Movers International, said that since 2004 the company had issued over 700 quotations to clients wanting to move abroad. "Most of these people are skilled, middle to upper class. Some are doctors, veterinarians, boiler makers and engineers - mostly whites."

King International Movers general manager Rolf Lamers concurred. "Things have suddenly picked up in the export shipments. We are currently doing four times as many jobs as we did in January of the past year," he said.

Lamers added that many of his clients had cited the current power crisis as a major contributing factor. "It is a story of doom and gloom if you look at who these people are," he said.

"Although all my clients are overwhelmingly English-speaking white folks, there are coloureds and Indian professionals moving abroad as well."

But Martin Westhuizen, managing director of Pickfords International Moving and Relocation, said people were increasingly moving abroad for better opportunities and lifestyles. "A number of these people ... keep their properties and are still returning home," he noted.

This is blatant discrimination,but funny
Pandor,the minister,has a complex.
She is overweight-foolish,and has done more damage to the education during the previous 10 years, than the Apartheid era.
Every year the system is lowered because the black majority fail to pass

“We the youth of South Africa, recognising the injustices of our past, honour those who suffered and sacrificed for justice and freedom.
“We will respect and protect the dignity of each person, and stand up for justice.
“We sincerely declare that we shall uphold the rights and values of our Constitution and promise to act in accordance with the duties and responsibilities that flow from these rights.” – Sapa.

This is the better version:rofl::rofl::rofl: From SA sucks blog

We the marxist youth of South Africa along with our monkeys
Recognising the injustices of our past, And the cockups of the present!
We fear the future and long for sanity in our once great land.
We cannot honour terrorists who caused suffering and death for a fake justice and no freedom.
We will respect and protect the dignity of each person, and stand up for justice as long as there is a bribe.
We sincerely declare that we shall uphold the rights and values of our constitution
and promise to act in accordance with the duties and responsibilities of our marxist leaders.
We will hijack, rape and kill any white who does not agree with our notion of reality that flow from these rights.

The Seeff Properties Group had experienced a rush of people looking for evaluation of their properties this year, according to chairperson Samuel Seeff. His company had received 50 percent more inquiries compared to the same period last year.

This is because of the house sales in general.
You have to pay a 10 percent tax on the proceeds of the house. So it does not mean that people are leaving

Read quotations, please note that the overseas requirements are stiff for the white South Africans and many fall by the wayside.

She was rather pretty. How horrible.

If there are so many restrictions on taking assets out of South Africa, why hasn't someone set up a clandestine network for getting those assets out? It shouldn't be all that difficult to elude the South African authorities, and it'd likely be a profitable endeavour to boot.

The problem is the exchange control but first of all the banks.
If you have million dollars in the bank and it disappears the bank MUST advise the authorities.
Then the problem: If you take South African currency in your luggage and exchange it in ..lets say Holland..the Bank there has to ask for your particulars.
We may invest outside SA (off shore),but this too is monitored.

The best way is to have a business to import goods and let the other side send a "false" invoice.
But if you get caught, you hang.
Agliotti-Kebble and a number of others have tried and were caught.
The Portuguese and Greek and Chinese are the best in getting money out. They use their family and friends to go on holiday and take the maximum out,for which one gets paid ten percent.

Selling your house to a foreigner is now made difficult.
The Govt soon realized that money was paid out overseas.

Jake

The reason for the brownouts is high industrial energy usage and the econmic situation in SA has improved recently.

I haven't been in South Africa for sometime. Cape Town is a nice place to take a long holiday.

The main problem with SA is security and you need to be really careful if you don't know the country. If you look like you don't know where your going in that place you could get in to real trouble and a lot of tourists get into trouble.

You can walk out a lot of diamonds or platinum jewelry out of SA. However the one place where you don't want to end up doing time in jail is SA.

I am stunned.
How do you know the gang Pagad.????????
They are still there and waiting behind the curtains.
The time is not right yet.
They are,for so far I know, expanding to other provinces besides the Cape, and then show their tentacles.
I kind of liked them.
