I wish we could deal with our libertoons the way the Chinese do.

Chinese officials have effectively banned the gay cowboy drama 'Brokeback Mountain" from showing in cinemas in the world's most populous nation.

According to Daily Variety, Censors feel the subject matter of Taiwan director Ang Lee's film is too controversial for audiences in China where homosexuality remains a taboo.

The decision came despite the movie's status as firm favourite for the Oscars, nominations for which are set to be unveiled ion Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The movie, based on a short story by Annie Proulx and starring Australian Heath Ledger and US actor Jake Gyllenhaal, has dominated the 2006 Hollywood awards season, although it had outraged some US conservatives. . . .

'Brokeback Mountain' is one of those movies I'll probably never watch.

I haven't been to the cinema in years. The last movie I watched there was Luther (which was an independent film).

Between 1991 - 1994 I've been to the cinema almost every week. :)

The last time was 1997 ('Peacemaker' with Nicole Kidman).

The last time I was, I watched Malena (Italian movie)and it was several years ago.

I like the cinema, I am just unhappy with the situation in my town where there isn't a specific cinema dedicated to quality or classical movies.

Steven Segal? LMAO. That fat fuck can not even get his shit together to loose some pounds before a movie. He has been wearing the same black leather trenchcoat for ages only to hide his big belly.

I still enjoy going to the movies now and then. My g/f went with her mother to see this faggot movie. Needless to say I passed.

China doesn't ban prostitution either. 10-1 that Shanghai merchants were hawking the DVD of it in the streets before it hit theatres.

If the idea behind the film was to show that being gay isn't just for effeminate, wimps but also for tough cow-boys, then why the hell did they cast two effeminate wimps?

Because they couldn't persuade real men to paticipate in this shit.
