Since I have experience with college athletics (I ran the 600 indoor, 800 meter and 1,500 meters outdoor during my freshman and sophomore years of college), I would like to use this thread to enumerate some of the more glaring idiocies brought about by Title IX.
First, some background:
Title IX requires the equal treatment of female and male student-athletes in the provisions of: (a) equipment and supplies; (b) scheduling of games and practice times; (c) travel and daily allowance/per diem; (d) access to tutoring; (e) coaching, (f) locker rooms, practice and competitive facilities; (g) medical and training facilities and services; (h) housing and dining facilities and services; (i) publicity and promotions; (j) support services and (k) recruitment of student-athletes.
In order to be Title IX compliant institution must meet all of the following requirements, and for participation requirements, institutions officials must meet one of the following three tests. An institution may:
Provide participation opportunities for women and men that are substantially proportionate to their respective rates of enrollment of full-time undergraduate students;
Demonstrate a history and continuing practice of program expansion for the underrepresented sex;
Fully and effectively accommodate the interests and abilities of the underrepresented sex; and, Female and male student-athletes must receive athletics scholarship dollars proportional to their participation; and, Equal treatment of female and male student-athletes in the eleven provisions as mentioned above.
What Title IX has really done is gutted non-revenue men's sports (such as wrestling and baseball), while paving the way for ridiculous things like a varsity rowing team at the University of Texas, or the acceptance of female bowling as a legitimate college sport -- the idea being that only females looking for a scholarship or obese, blue-collar men in the mid-forties are the only ones desperate enough to turn to bowling for recreation.
The facts of the matter are this: women, on every level, are inferior athletes. WORLD record women times are on par (or slightly below) the national high school boys records in track and field and weightlifting. Women's basketball is a snooze-fest, characterized by slow-as-molasses guards, centers and power forwards so unathletic that they have trouble walking (running is out of the question) down the court, topped off with a liberal helping of inept, apathetic defenses. Women's hockey, like women's soccer, is a joke -- if any two players are within a foot radius of each other, they back up, so eager to avoid physical confrontation that they give up the puck or ball.
So, then, use this thread to record all the follies foisted upon sports in the name of gender equality!
The facts of the matter are this: women, on every level, are inferior athletes.While we're equating stereotype with fact, I'll add that white men can't jump, period. Women's basketball is a snooze-fest, characterized by slow-as-molasses guards, centers and power forwards so unathletic that they have trouble walking (running is out of the question) down the court, topped off with a liberal helping of inept, apathetic defenses.Really? Where are they getting these women? Are you sure you're not watching some Special version of women's basketball (Special like the Special Olympics)? The average woman can walk easily and it's extremely easy to find women capable of running for extended periods. Women's hockey, like women's soccer, is a joke -- if any two players are within a foot radius of each other, they back up, so eager to avoid physical confrontation that they give up the puck or ball. How much women's hockey or soccer have you actually watched? There's no way women are "so eager to avoid physical confrontation" -- not when, for example, studies indicate that women initiate domestic violence more often than men do. So, then, use this thread to record all the follies foisted upon sports in the name of gender equality!I'm all for women playing sports, and not out of any abstract belief in "gender equality." I'm secure enough in my masculinity that I don't feel threatened in the least by the existence of female athletes.

While we're equating stereotype with fact, I'll add that white men can't jump, period.
Lower testosterone levels, resulting in decreased muscle mass and a higher bodyfat %, in addition to lower levels of fast-twitch muscle fibers, prevent Caucasians from performing as well as West Africans in the skill positions of football, or as explosive guards in basketball -- this is well documented.
Really? Where are they getting these women? Are you sure you're not watching some Special version of women's basketball (Special like the Special Olympics)? The average woman can walk easily and it's extremely easy to find women capable of running for extended periods.
I'm quite sure. Any woman over 6'1" is capable of walking on to a Division I women's basketball team -- they are that starved for talent in the front-court.

Far more than you, obviously. The US women's hockey team practices against prep school boys, and is routinely routed by four, five, six goals, even when they do not allow checking. The US women's soccer team practices against male junior college teams, and is without exception out-classed in every aspect of play. The core of the women's national team had a friendly with a U-16 select boys' club and lost 3-0, for God's sake.
I don't feel threatened by the existence of female athletes, either, but I just wanted to see how long you would take to respond to this thread, Brandon.
Now, I'd recommend you stop main-lining the Phora like electronic heroin, you sad junkie, you, and get out and participate in some athletics, if you want to lose those chubby cherubic cheeks and incipient double-chin you displayed in your, ahem, CA$H MA$TER photographs.

Can I remind everyone that Brandon Orr threatened to out il ragno. Any further work being done to expose that nasty, racist Sicilian to the world? Or did you give up after realizing that armed only with the information that he was an 'angry, racist Sicilian living in New York', you were up against insurmountable odds?

Here's how to get Brandon Orr to post in one of your threads
Look in the mirror and chant his name 3x
Mention women athletes being inferior
Mention sexual slavery
Mention domestic violence
Mention that there's a 15% off sale at Hot Topic, and he can finally get more of the 'Swingers Meets Urban Cowboy' bowling shirts he so craves
Women's hockey, like women's soccer, is a joke -- if any two players are within a foot radius of each other, they back up, so eager to avoid physical confrontation that they give up the puck or ball.BTW, there is another reason the above statement is impossible. Female athletes in these sports often suffer musculoskeletal injuries resulting from player aggression. This physician (http://www.momsteam.com/alpha/features/health_safety/acl_injuries_in_female_athletes.shtml) who specializes in treating athletes notes that these injuries, such as spraining or rupturing the ACL, are common among female athletes and often linked to aggressive style of play. I've seen female injuries invoked as an "argument" against women in sports, but fact is, many of those injuries happen because the players play aggressively. If female athletes did avoid confrontation as you claim, they'd get injured much less than they actually do.

BTW, there is another reason the above statement is impossible as a general rule. Female athletes in these sports often suffer musculoskeletal injuries resulting from player aggression. Can you stop Goggling for dumb shit that you don't understand (women suffer musculoskeletal injuries because their bones are not as dense as men, nor are their muscles as strong, resulting in shearing and stress fractures that most men would shrug off), and that supports my points anyway, and address the fact that your rapidly receding hairline, cleft palate, and double chin make you look like a White Trash Frankenstein who shops exclusively at TJ Maxx?
lol wow MomsTeam, good job, there genius. What did you Google for, "female injuries + aggressive play" , or something? I'm going to give your very own MacArthur Genius Grant for world's most distinguished Google Scholar.
Can you stop Goggling for dumb shit that you don't understandI didn't find that through Google and it's from a professional who is far more knowledgeable about the topic than you are. I understand it just fine; you're the one with the problem:
(women suffer musculoskeletal injuries because their bones are not as dense as men, nor are their muscles as strong, resulting in shearing and stress fractures that most men would shrug off)Who ever said that only one factor can be involved? Physicians versed in this subject (I linked you to one) will tell you that aggressive play is a major factor, including among female athletes. If female athletes were unaggressive as you claim, many of those injuries wouldn't happen, period. That women are more susceptible to certain injuries than men is true but irrelevant here; what's relevant is the fact that when female athletes sustain injuries, it's often due to aggressive behavior.
and that supports my points anywayIt refutes rather than supports your claim that female athletes avoid confrontation. As for the rest, you're just making stuff up that's totally irrelevant -- sure sign that you're out of your league. If you were really any good at comedy (except getting me to laugh at you), your gigs wouldn't be limited to joints like the Phora. (Which, by the way, you "mainline" far more than I do!)
If you didn't feel somehow threatened by female athletes, you wouldn't post hysterical and inaccurate rants about them. IMHO, it's probably something relatively simple -- like being justifiably afraid that one could kick your ass.
Any further work being done to expose that nasty, racist Sicilian to the world? Or did you give up after realizing that armed only with the information that he was an 'angry, racist Sicilian living in New York', you were up against insurmountable odds?Again, totally irrelevant to the topic. You can't hold your own in debate so you flood the thread with tangents. Fine with me; you started the thread, if you want to bury it in irrelevant emo spam, that's your prerogative.
As for IR, I happen to have his name and other info, though I'm personally not bothered by the fact that he's an 'angry racist'. I could expose him to the world and could have a good while back, but haven't done so. Fine with you?
Anyway, get back to bitch-spamming the thread simply because I made a few points. Why is it that so many of you marginal misogynists talk and act like you have a perpetual period, oversize tampon included?
