April 20 in Russia

Moscow bureau for human rights directed the address to the Ministry of
Home Affairs of RF - to take special measures for protection of law
and order and suppression of activity of national-radicals on April 20
and the days close to this date.
The tradition to mark the birthday of fuhrer of Nazi Germany Adolph
Hitler by public actions goes back to early 1980s.
In April 1980 a small group of Nazi ideology adherents arranged a kind
of picket near Moscow choral synagogue. Two years later, on April 20,
1982 a demonstration of a group of neo-Nazis at Pushkin square in
Moscow took place. The fact of such a manifestation itself impressed
greatly both the intellectuals of the capital and Western mass media.
There were no such demonstrations till 1987 but every year not long
before April 20 a rumor was heard that "a demonstration of fascists
would take place at Pushkin square", and the most active first-year
students gathered near the monument to the poet "to beat the Nazis"
but found nobody there.
The next public demonstration took place in Leningrad on April 20,
1987 when two columns of young people in the age of 17-22 dressed in
black shirts with swastikas at the sleeves marched along Nevsky
prospect and surroundings of subway station "Ploshchad Vosstaniya". On
the same day similar demonstration took place in Peterhof. At the same
time a mass desecration of Jewish graves at Preobrazhenskoye cemetery
in Leningrad took place.
Since late 1990s several attempts were taken to turn this day into a
loud media-event. In 1998 representatives of radical nationalists
disseminated a declaration where they promised to kill an African or
Asian daily since April 20. In 2002 the embassy of Japan in Moscow
received a letter by e-mail from some "skinhead Ivan" who declared
that the skinheads would kill all the foreigners they would see at the
streets of Moscow on that day.
As a result some embassies addressed the Russian authorities with
request to provide the safety of their citizens in connection with the
threats from skinheads. On April 17 the mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov
told the journalists that the law-enforcement bodies of Moscow are
ready to make the roughest rebuff to any appearances of extremists.
Luzhkov called the members of extremist organizations for
non-participation in any actions. General public prosecutor of RF
Vladimir Ustinov stated on April 16 at the meeting with
representatives of rights defending organizations that "he maintains
the supervision of the situation connected with possible provocations
on the part of youth extremist organizations on the eve of Hitler's
birthday". And the deputy minister of home affairs of Russia,
colonel-general of militia Alexander Chekalin stated that on April 19
morning the minister of home affairs Boris Gryzlov signed the order on
execution of special operation "Vortex-anti- extremist" . During the
operation 399 teen-agers were detained and 195 of them suspected of
belonging to extremist groups were registered in militia. Some
publications were also seen in mass media about "celebration" of April
20 by skinheads, and this was actually an advertisement for skinheads.
A supposition was expressed that such PR-campaign was arranged by the
authorities for adoption of quite a rough Law on counteraction against
extremism.
On April 2007 a meeting took place in Moscow at Slavyanskaya square
that was actually devoted to Hitler's birthday (it should be noted
that neo-Nazis didn't try much to conceal this fact). It was
participated by such right-radical organizations as NSO, "Format-18",
Natstekh, "Russian will". Formally the permission for the meeting was
acquired by some "Party of protection of Russian constitution" (PZRK)
"Rus"; its backbone consisted, according to the nationalists
themselves, of former members of Russian National Unity (RNE). About
150 people participated in the meeting, and one third of them were NSO
adherents. And the leader of this organization D. Rumyantsev stated
that Russian authorities allegedly implement the intentions ascribed
to Hitler (extermination of Russian nation, disintegration of the
state, making drunkards of the population), spoke with the praise to
the leader of German fascism who allegedly "being armed with ideas of
national socialism and struggling for his nation and his state, made
it recover in several years". He also called for "throwing away the
morals of hypocrites, … throwing away the pity" and actually
threatened of radicals' proceeding to terrorist activity. Practically
after each speech the meeting participants raised their hands in Nazi
salutation.
On the same day another meeting of nationalists took place at Pushkin
square participated by leader of the organization "Slavic union" (SS)
D. Dyomushkin who openly confesses pro-Nazi views.
During a month after April 20, 1998 four attacks at least at
representatives of ethnic minorities a day were committed in Moscow.
On April 21, 2001 a group of skinheads in Moscow has looted a car
"Zhiguli" with the driver, beaten a motorcyclist and three passers-by
else.
In 2002 the Perm synagogue was desecrated as well as Jewish community
office in Ulyanovsk.
In 2004 the skinheads killed a Tajik workman in Kirov. On the same day
Nizhni Novgorod mosque "Tauba" was desecrated. On April 22, 2004 the
skinheads arranged again the massacre in the Jewish community center
in Ulyanovsk. It's interesting to note that the attack took place
literally half an hour later after dismissal of intense militia patrol
that was standing near the building in connection with the threat of
neo-Nazis' attack on Hitler's birthday.
In Ryazan and Oryol the cases were recorded in 2003-2004 when
representatives of diasporas were afraid of going out of their houses
on Hitler's birthday apprehending the skinheads.
On April 22, 2006 in the afternoon four students of Kostroma state
university from China were beaten in the yard of one of Kostroma
schools. On the same day in Moscow, at subway station "1905 street" a
group of youngsters burst into the carriage shouting "Russia for
Russians!" and started beating a man of Caucasian appearance in the
age of about 45. Another part of the group held the carriage doors
until the slaughter participants rushed out of it leaving their victim
in blood and unconscious. The 17-year-old citizen of Russia,
first-year student of Moscow institute of management Vigen Abramyants
was slaughtered just on the platform of subway station "Pushkinskaya"
in Moscow. Unknown people attacked two citizens of Tajikistan at one
of Moscow streets. One of them who got 17 knife wounds died. Another
victim, with thrust-cut wound of stomach was brought to the hospital
by a Muscovite who was driving by. And at subway station "Avtovo" in
St. Petersburg three young people had beaten the citizen of Turkey Gul
Orhan.
At the Jewish cemetery of Omsk fascist swastikas were drawn on ten
graves, and in Orenburg a group of skinheads attacked the synagogue.
The skinheads were also going to arrange the attack at non-Russian
students of Novosibirsk university.
Starting since 2002 the employees of law-enforcement bodies were put
on intense regime of service on this day. As a minimum since the same
time it is allowed to the foreign students studying in Moscow colleges
(Russian University of friendship of nations, Financial academy,
Sechenov Medical academy) to miss their classes and also it was not
recommended to go out of their hostels. Later the colleges of St.
Petersburg and Nizhni Novgorod joined this practice.
In 2008 on the eve of April 20 the national diasporas and foreign
students already begin filling unrest. They call each other in
Internet to be especially careful on this day, limit their movements
in the streets and do not walk alone. At the same time the radical
web-sites are full of appeals to mark this day with violence over
"blacks". It was announced at DPNI forum: "Great Hitler-liberator
perished with automatic gun in his hands defending us from Jews but
his cause is alive and overcoming! Turks - to Turkistan. Caucasians -
to Caucasus!". According to unofficial information, Boris and Tatiana
Mironovs and their team-mates from NDPR are preparing a public action
in Moscow.

They are not Russian Nationalists. They are suicidal and deluded self-haters. Real Russian Nationalists do not refer to themselves as "aryan" and "national socialists." Real Russian Nationalist HATE Hitler.

The Russian nationalists' obsession with the Fuehrer is truly bizarre.

These Russians merely use common sense. What's truely bizarre, is your mixture of zionism, hedonism, communism, conservative revolutionary ideas and anti-Hitlerian rhetoric.

They are not Russian Nationalists. They are suicidal and deluded self-haters. Real Russian Nationalists do not refer to themselves as "aryan" and "national socialists." Real Russian Nationalist HATE Hitler.

Rubbish. Russians and Germans are brothers. Some of Russia's finest (eg. Cossacks) fought at the Eastern front alongside their German brethren against the Sovjet monster.

Today, Eastern-Europe is the only part of Europe that's still sane to some degree and it's a shining light to the rest of Europe. It's only logical that some like to follow the example of the great avatar who almost liberated Europe.

Because I'm not a weird hedonistic zionist who mixes conservative revolutionary ideas with communism and who hates one of the greatest leaders Europe ever had?

You're such an idiot...
