That Ronaldo is a total cunt, did you see the arrogance with which he MISSED his penalty?

I could have kicked his arse..... you don't feck around in situations like that , that Chelsea goalkeeper was not slouch - a bloody good player.
Yes in an arse kicking contest Ronaldo would have to be the arse.
He scored a great goal but for fecks sake why screw around when the whole team is under big "P".
Credit to the men who played after him they kept their cool and the Man U keeper - great fucking save my son , great fucking save :)

Having played my entire life and having my father coach me for 13 of those years, once again he's shown to be right when he taught us at a young age to always allow yourself at least 8-10 steps when running to get maximum momentum on your penalty shot. Once I saw Anelka's stance, I knew Chelsea would lose.

Gotta feel for Terry and the wet turf.

Football as a game has become uninspiring, boring, too tactical and tough.
Let alone things surrounding him.

The higher level of competition, the worse it gets.

I grew up playing soccer (gaelic football & hurling too), but mostly soccer.

But I can safely say that it is the most boring game in the world to watch on TV.

The most exciting game in the world ... rugby league. It's just a shame almost nobody outside of Eastern Australia & northern England has ever even heard of it.

Masty - I have my own reasons for nat wanting Chelsea to win - none of them remotely related to football.
As far as MU goes , we still beat them home and away last season .:)

Is that the same thing as Australian rules football (or rugby)? I don't know if I got the expression right.

No Aussie rules football is just a roving mess... all flailing arms and legs jumping around trying to catch a red oval ball. It is also known as "Aerial Ping-Pong".

Rugby league is different from rugby union because when a tackle is made in rugby union, the ball has to be surrendered, which means that play is always breaking down. So it's like watching a pack of roving dogs running around a park fighting over a bone.

No rugby league is a game of organised raids and defences of the line... the fact that the ball can only be thrown backwards means that the attack is always very structured... in a line across the field. But each team gets 6 plays before the ball must be handed over, so there is a good chance for creativity and the play is quite spread out.

Pure magic.

Thanks for that Shanemac.

First video was really great, the second one was a bit violent; I hope those were fouls, I think I saw some head-butts in there...but maybe I'm mistaken.

I seldom catch rugby union matches on the tube, so I have a poor understanding/recollection of the rules, but now I know why they keep breaking down the best part of the gameplay, which is to see the team invading the opposing field in a wave-like attack.

Indeed, it seems that rugby league is faster and more interesting; it would be really great if it was more widely known.

I'd never heard of gaelic football either.
