Imus' TNB (http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/06/23/don-imus-on-adam-jones-what-color-is-he/?icid=200100397x1204641693x1200198284) (with audio)
Wolf: "Defensive back Adam 'Pacman' Jones, recently signed by the Cowboys. Here's a guy suspended all of 2007 following a shooting in a Vegas night club."
Imus: "Well, stuff happens. You're in a night club, for God's sake. What do you think's gonna happen in a night club? People are drinking and doing drugs, there are women there, and people have guns. So, there, go ahead."
Wolf: "He's also been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005."
Imus: "What color is he?"
Wolf: "He's African-American."
Imus: "Well, there you go. Now we know."

Uh oh.:dance2: I can already hear the outrage from the usual suspects. They will really be screaming now about never allowing him in front of a microphone now. I wonder if he just got a little more relaxed as time went on or if these comments were like him willingly giving the middle finger to certain people?
If people were sane, of course, this would be nothing more than realistic commentary.

He never linked African-Americans to crime so he should be fine. You Americans really are a sensitive bunch. :p
It's about 400 years of slavery!!!
Seriously, that's what it's all about. You can't joke or criticize, lest you are reminded and/or punished. Same thing with Jews and the 6 million.

Imus knows what hes doing, he throws a tiny comment out and the spaz reaction sends his ratings into space. And all he has to do is kiss the ring of a few uncle toms and laugh all the way to the bank.

Yes, asking about race and then commenting in the way he did is sure to have Al Sharpton and countless others foaming at the mouth in about a day or two. Whites are never even supposed to hint about things like black crime. That means you are an evil racist who wants to enslave and lynch them all over again.

Rhyming Reverand number 1 is already on the case:
NEW YORK (AP) -- Don Imus is again drawing fire for injecting race into his radio show.
During an on-air conversation Monday about the arrests of suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, Imus asked, "What color is he?"
Told by sports announcer Warner Wolf that Jones is "African-American," Imus responded: "There you go. Now we know."
Civil rights leader Al Sharpton has issued a statement calling the exchange "disturbing because it plays into stereotypes(those stereotypes happen to be based in reality. That is what a real black leader should be concerning themselves with. As for saying they are going to decide, does that possibly mean they will just forget about this? lol.) He says his National Action Network will decide in the next day or so whether to take any action.
Imus was fired from his previous show last year after he made a racially charged comment about the Rutgers women's basketball team.
Representatives for Imus and WABC Radio haven't returned calls seeking comment. Jones' attorney hasn't responded to an e-mail.

When he returned to the airwaves last winter, he did so with a larger-than-usual on-air team: he'd "decided" to hire two Affikin-Amerikins for the first time ever.
So I guess it's like paying out the ass for a home-security system: sooner or later, you wanna put it to the test and find out how much extra protection you're actually getting, if any - or if you're just throwing out money every week, keeping a couple of placebo niggers in place that you gotta tiptoe around every day.

He commented nearly identically to how I react to such stories, which is why I knew what he was getting at. When I hear of crime and the race of the perpetrator, phrases such as "there you go," or "that explains it" often come out of my mouth. The six arrests in college are a clear indicator, and it tipped Imus off.

Don Imus spoke out on his radio show today about his comments yesterday regarding Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones. Here's the audio:
Talking about police treatment of Jones, who has been arrested several times, Imus said, "What people should be outraged about is that they arrest blacks for no reason. There's no reason to arrest this kid six times, I mean maybe he did something once but everybody does something once -- I have. ... They shoot blacks for no reason."
Imus later added, "I know there's some people who want to get me, but you're not going to get me for this. It's ridiculous."

Oh, they are still going to try to get you for this and now you made a fool out of yourself by making these ridiciulous comments in an attempt to save yourself. That is unless he is being sarcastic. I could not really tell from that. If this was sarcasm than he is really going to be in trouble, but at least he won't look like a suck up.
This is how nutty and hypocritical things are as well. Does anyone suppose there will be much of an uproar about his suggestion that cops(and you know white cops is the implication here)systamatically murder blacks for no good reason and harass them? LIkely not. Whites are fair game for such condemnation. Make an observation about blacks and crime, though and everyone cries and calls you a bigot. A white guy has to attempt to save himself from charges of racism by demonizing his own.

I think it's very possible that we misinterpreted what Imus said. Imus it seems said "there you go" to indicate that it's common for black men to be harrassed/arrested for shit because of their race. I really think that's what he was trying to say. I doubt he was trying to say, "oh yeah, he's black, of course he's involved in TNB" Imus is a liberal remember and he's sucked a lot of black penis to get back on air so I doubt he would try to fuck himself over again.
Btw how the fuck did Imus, a guy who specializes in sports talk radio, not know Pacman's race? (he asked "what color is he?") I don't even follow NFL and I know who Pacman Jones is. His reputation is that bad. :D

Read the lastest stuff and he's saying he was trying to make a sarcastic point. ('Blacks are always singled out for news stories about bad behavior'? or something.) He's pleading he has lots of Africans as his staff now, even his producer. This man in the stupid cowboy hat is a major twit. "Twit" with a capital "T."
Goes to show that when a man is continuously sarcastic, like these radio run-on-at-the-mouth twits, it get's so you can never take them at their word about anything. They're words have less-and-less value and creative punch. Now the man has no credibility one way or another; not with Europeans who would like to see their peoples/nations survive, and not with Africans either.

He probably did know his race, but asked about it to set up whatever point it was he was trying to make. You might be right that his point might just have been what he is now claiming. Blacks jumped on it because they still want to get him for the nappy headed hoes comment and we jumped on it because we wanted a white guy to say these things. It does kind of make more sense than believing he would say something that he knows would get him in trouble only to deny that he actually meant it in the way it was taken. What Vindex said could also be correct. Create a little controversy to get yourself some attention and then go into damage control mode.

He's totally fucking with MSM. Baited and fileted.
Create a little controversy to get yourself some attention and then go into damage control mode.Damage control? You do realise how stupid they look. He deliberately set them up with a line that can be taken two ways. What does MSM do? Takes it the "wrong" way and calls Sharpton.
Imus responds as below, and Sharpton today is forced to concede the following (to paraphrase), or else reveal himself to be the race baiting agitator everyone knows he is: "I hope Imus meant what he said he meant."
Note Imus is effectively stating racial profiling exists. What's wrong with that? You (think about it) know it exists. Most everyone knows it exists. It's up to the listener to ascertain why it exists. MSM loves racial tension, though, which is why they conjure up the Jesse and Al Show whenever they have an excuse. Think about it. Why else would MSM call them?
Hey MSM: stop calling Jesse and Al.
Don't feed the trolls.

Although the media is a forum for big-mouths, that people are not allowed to say what they think because it might offend a member of one thin-skinned group or another is the greatest threat to free speech yet. The guidelines themselves are completely biased and hypocritical. You can't say word one about a minority group, yet take a shot at white males any old time you like and it gets a big laugh. Criticize a gay man who thinks it's his right to force himself on straights in a public place and you might as well kiss your job goodbye, but condemn heterosexuals for public sexuality and its totally safe territory. You can't criticize certain "protected" religions, like Islam, Judaism, or Christianity, but as for the rest of them, especially agnosticism, go ahead and fire away. And of course, if you suck up to "family values," you can't go wrong, but criticize the bourgeoisie and you're fired. Who makes these rules? How do you get one of these jobs? That is what's truly obscene.

The big corporate Media's job is to create buzz in everything possible in the 24/7 entertainment business. The first time Imus made the statement about this Rutger's womens' basketball team was at 6:15 in the morning and only one person originally complained. You're being scammed and manipulated by the Media as they promote every belch and burp over the airwaves that they want you to comment on. That way they keep the advertisers happy by showing them the ratings. Folks, get a life.(That was like 800 without nearly the mind.)Tue, Jun 24, 2008 at 06:39 PM EST
However horrible this may be you have the right to be racist in America.
john briere Tue, Jun 24, 2008 at 06:38 PM EST
The media is doing Americans a great injustice by hyping
every comment that has the slightest suggestion of race.
The media usually gets it wrong then adds to the confusion
by soliciting responses from the likes of Al Sharpton .
There are far more intellectually honest blacks we should be hearing from who are RARELY QUOTED I.E.

Imus nailed it. Everybody is so knocked back on their P.R. heels that everyone knows the truth and hasn't the guts to just say it. Overpaid white athletes tend to stay married to their college sweethearts, and send their kids to great colleges. Overpaid black athletes tend to lose track of their wives, girlfriends, and children, because being a big-shot and scoring booty is the only real thing that drives them. Disagree? look at the statistics...and look at who is filling our prisons.
Kate Tue, Jun 24, 2008 at 06:19 PM EST
I think it's awful the way we have to walk on egg shells for fear of saying something that may offend someone. Even an innocent sarcastic remark like Imus made is taken the wrong way. Sharpton is the biggest racist of all!
:Djen Tue, Jun 24, 2008 at 06:12 PM EST
Get over yourselves, all the PC "racism" crying brats. When was the last time Whites screamed over a Black comedian making fun of "Whites dancing" or even the movie "White Men Can't Jump". What about the new movie "Black Men can't Spell"? oops is that unfair? Too bad.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this: Imus grovelling at the feet of his new masters no, please, I meant it in an anti race-iss way, please, oh God, please don't put me through it again - I'll be good....I swear to GAWD I"ll be good!
.....to no avail. He still doesn't get that this is what the rest of his life as a celebrity will be like until he dies. If he'd just said "fuck you if you can't take a joke", taken his forty or fifty million and gone home in the first place he'd at least have his self-respect - if not the grasping social-climber trophy wife 25 years his junior (they tend not to linger very long after the parade's left town).
Instead, he's licking nigger boots like an old wino, begging forgiveness from people who don't think of murder as a crime - at least not compared to symbolic noose-hangin' - and this is only the beginning. Love it.

Yes many of these highly paid black sports figures and rappers, etc. do not act a whole lot differently that negroes in the poorest ghettos. Many of them still engage in behaviors that could be called TNB.
But, of course, we are being racist now, Count Sudoku.:nono: We absolutely must look for a more politically correct answer.
It doesn't matter how much money he or any of them have. They are still black men who have to deal with constant hate and racism from whites. Hate and racism that has robbed them of their soul. Hate and racism that as Imus claims he meant, has resulted in cops picking on perfectly law abiding blacks for no other reason than because they are black. They see a black man and just can't help themselves.

Explanation for his actions? He stated he "lost perspective and failed to restrain myself". As Imus would say, "Well, there you go. Now we know." At least he did not blame the White man....well, not directly anyway.
