There seem to be quite a few sock-puppet accounts being used on the Phora. Since this is supposedly against forum rules, can I ask whether this rule is going to be enforced?

I hope I don't sound like a whiner, but this needs to be kicked in the head, because sock-puppeteers have a severely dysgenic effect on forum content.

Namely,

a) They piss people off, who then leave
b) They usually involve presenting inferior straw-man versions of opposition arguments, which is inherently dishonest, and also necessarily lowers post quality.
c) They cause confusion amongst newbies who don't know who's a serious poster and who's just a sock-puppet
d) They just plain aren't funny or clever

Not sure if you're seriously denying it or not, but:

- Your sock-puppets often post within 5 minutes of each other, and sometimes back each other up.
- You occassionally mess up and post racist stuff under your anti-racist puppets and anti-racist stuff with your racist ones. :nono:

P.S. Just wondering, do you have your puppets give rep points to each other (i.e. yourself)? That would be a nice way to rort the system :hump:

Dear Mods, thank you for your efforts in exterminating this affliction.

What would also be most welcome is a redoubling of efforts to ensure that name-changes are properly regulated.

Actually I would further suggest that a new by-law be introduced such that if a poster has ever used a different nom-de-plume on this or an earlier edition of the Phora they are required to disclose their alter ego(s) in the Intro thread, on pain of excommunication if subsequently outed.
