All this is rather ironic, since under the twin dogmas of multiculturalism and cultural relativism, all cultures and beliefs are meant to be equal. Like George Orwell’s animals, however, some seem to be more equal than others. Commitment to cultural diversity all too often seems to disguise contempt for the dominant national culture that historically bound the society.

No wonder such large sections of the British establishment don’t offer any resistance to the claims of fundamentalist radicals.

The guest cultures, understanding they bring nothing of value, instead try to justify themselves solely by their opposition to the host majority. Lacking demonstrable affirmative merit, they seem to instead choose merit-by-negation (we are not the majority culture). The negation process of not-being is the only thing officially defining diverse persons and also somehow "proves" the merits underlying diversity policies. Insane?

We're heading for a system of "parallel citizenships", in which different communities will coexist within the same state while being subject to different laws. While the role of the central government will be to arbitrate disputes between these communities, not to govern them.

Interesting. Big Gov won't even bother to arbitrate disputes. It will only use disputes to act as an interloper and extract whatever advantages it can, whether that means shutting up a dissident, taking somebody's resources, or whatever.

Yes, right now if you're an uneducated Mexican fresh from the border illegally you are on a different American platform. You don't need a driver's license. You don't need any numbers. You don't need any papers. You're scott free. European-Americans? Different story. I have friends from other countries who want to visit here, like from England and Italy. They are subject to all sorts of rules getting here, and are forced to return after a certain period or risk being barred from the U.S. The illegal Meztizo? No problem. No threat of deportation. No need to leave after 3 months. He can come here any time he wants, set up a home, and stay here the rest of his life and all his generations of progeny, too.

That's bizarre.
