I have been playing with the idea of making such a forum, but don't feel like opening a ghosstown, so here is my question to the membershîp: should we install such a forum, can you picture yourself posting in it?

The World Cup in Germany is less than 4 months away, so I say why not. And even if it's a ghostown, you can still delete the forum if no one post there... if the board really lack space.

I say no. The most likely thing that will happen is Europeans and Americans making fun of each other's favorite sports. Assuming the place isn't a ghost town, that is.

Though I was flabbergasted at what babes the US women's curling team turned out to be. Somehow I pictured them all being fat and middleaged.

Sure go ahead and create one. At the moment sportsthreads are just dumped in the Lounge or Popular Culture, where they quickly disappear from view

Yes if only to keep sports out of the other subforums.

Indubitably.

I need somewhere to rant against the inequities of the World Cup format that allows four teams from Concacaf to appear in the finals, while the likes of Russia, Denmark, and Belgium are unable to qualify due to the small number of places allocated to EUFA.

wouldnt it be a better idea to set up temporary forums for major sporting events like the olympics atm and the upcoming world cup.

I'm not in favour of temporary forums actually, but of course it's an idea.

God bless ya, Keystone. Another 90-loss season for the Bucs on tap and you're actually eager to kick it off. Bloody hell, that's loyalty.

Sports forum? Why not? It'll be all 'footie', all the time, but I don't see why Europhorans should be deprived of such. Might draw new people here at that.

Rounders is for "holidaymakers" (LOL) and the girlies. Baseball is for the guys. Has been for about 130 years.

The mods will notice that a Euro has started the pissing contest...;)

Always eager! Always wearing my Bill Mazeroski scapular. It's almost Spring and the Buccos are tied for first baby!

The Yanks finished without winning the Series. It's about even.
