Bulgarian Cisterns with Gas Worth EUR 350,000 "Emptied" in Serbia
Business: 13 February 2006, Monday.
A scandal might erupt between Bulgaria and Serbia over the theft of 13 cisterns with gas worth EUR 350,000, media claims.
The cisterns were transported to Serbia full but were later received empty, Serbian newspapers wrote. In April 2005 Bulgaria's state railways BDZ transported a train composition with gas propane butane.
Both Bulgaria and Serbia's customs reported that the load was correspondent to the customs declaration. Still, in the Serbian town Subotica the authorities reported that the cisterns were empty.
Todor Dimitrov, from BDZ, has confirmed for the Serbian media that the problem with the cisterns existed, underling that there is nothing more to be added to the case.
Dimitrov also said that the official reports from Serbia are expected and only after they are presented Bulgaria's side could make any comment.
