I am seeing a bunch of news stories that claim General Mladic has been caught, but the Serbian government is denying it. Any word? I certainly hope he hasn't been.

BELGRADE (AFP) - Top Bosnian Serb war crimes fugitive Ratko Mladic was arrested in Belgrade, more than a decade after he was indicted for ordering the Srebrenica massacre, B92 radio quoted an unofficial source as saying.
Earlier a Serbian police spokeswoman had denied to AFP that the former general had been captured.
Mladic was arrested in the Serbian capital before being transferred to the northern Bosnian town of Tuzla, the independent B92 radio station said.
The former Bosnian Serb general was indicted in 1995 by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) for ordering the three-and-a-half year siege of Sarajevo and the Srebrenica massacre of 8,000 Muslims during Bosnia's 1992-1995 war.

This is a sad day for the nation state and a sad day for the history of the west, as once again, an international body has violated the affairs of a sovereign nation with pressuring and economic bribery. An outrage

Mladic isn't caught and arrested (yet), and this is for sure:
"Serbian government rejected reports of his capture as "manipulation which damages the government" and it was also denied by The Hague tribunal.
"Dismissing reports of Gen Mladic's arrest on Tuesday, government spokesman Srdjan Djuric said such speculation detracted from Belgrade's efforts "to fully complete its co-operation with The Hague".
"The EU and the tribunal also said they had no information about the reported arrest."

I find this false news very strange. It reminds me of a similar situation that happened some time before October 5th 2000 (mass demonstrations after which Milosevic was overthrown), when mass media were reporting of "violent and bloody demonstrations" taking place in Belgrade, while no such thing occurred at the time (there weren't even people on the streets).
Unfortunately, Mladic is very likely to be caught. Deputy Minister of Defence has made it his primary mission and is personally in charge of various teams that at the moment investigate, interrogate and arrest all potential Mladic's associates throughout Serbia. Perhaps this hoax was released in order to prepare the public, or it was very close for something to happen, and the information "leaked"?

Medias here said "the most wanted serbs criminal has perhaps been caught"...
Isn't Radovan Karadzic the most wanted serbs by the Hague ?
Either way, the fact that both of them could hide themselves in this small region during 10 years prove that the serb authorities probably don't do their best to catch them.

Well, after extraditing almost all persons in charge of Serbian civilian, military and police structures, Karadzic and Mladic remained as "the most wanted ones". Karadzic is thought to be hiding in Bosnia, and Mladic in Serbia.
Either way, the fact that both of them could hide themselves in this small region during 10 years prove that the serb authorities probably don't do their best to catch them.
Serbian authorities aren't in charge in Bosnia, where Karazdic is; hundreds of homes have been broken into, many men murdered, beaten or harassed, all for the sake of investigation, but still they aren't even close to him.
Mladic was an Army General. He wasn't a syndicate boss that is hiding and who could be traced by following cetrain business links or flows of money. If he stays still and protected by a well organised network of supporters, it will be very hard and almost impossible to get him without applying more drastic measurements and drastic violations of human rights during the investigation. And by doing that, any government would commit its suicide.

Sky News has obtained evidence of hundreds of radical Islamic Holy warriors hiding in Bosnia, a decade after the end of the war. Tim Marshall went to Zenica in search of answers. He found a growing radicalisation, and a new base for Al Qaeda.

EU threatens Serbia over Mladic (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4755842.stm)
The European Union has told Serbia and Montenegro that talks on closer ties will be put on hold unless it hands over war crimes suspect Ratko Mladic.
European commissioner Ollie Rehn told the BBC that talks planned for early April would be called off until there was full co-operation from Serbia.
Mr Mladic is wanted in connection with the massacre of nearly 8,000 Muslims at Srebrenica and the siege of Sarajevo.
Serbian officials say security forces have been told to arrest the general.
Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus said he hoped this would happen by the end of March.
Mr Rehn said he believed the Belgrade government had the political will to bring Mr Mladic in.
He added that the army and security services had to obey the orders of the prime minister "to the letter".
Mr Rehn said it was necessary for a country wishing to join the EU to prove its army was under full democratic control.
"Serbia now has time roughly until the end of March, and I hope that full co-operation can be achieved by then, so as to avoid disruption and putting the negotiations on hold," he said.
UK Foreign Secretary Jack Straw told reporters that if Serbia failed to co-operate, it ultimately risked an end to the talks with the EU that began only last October.
