The family of a three-year-old girl who was killed in a hit-and-run crash have reacted furiously after the driver was jailed for 12 weeks.

Levi Bleasdale was hit by a stolen VW Golf as she crossed a road with her mother in Burnley on 10 September.

Driver Mohammed Hussain, 26, admitted careless driving, having no licence or insurance, failing to stop and failing to report an accident.

Levi's mother Kirsty Ryan, 22, said the sentence filled her with anger.

She told the BBC: "He says he is praying for me and my family, well I don't want his prayers.

"He's wrecked my daughter's life, he's wrecked my family's life and I don't want him to pray for me at all - it's too late."

I wonder how many months or years the father of the child would get if he punched this bastard in the face and breaks his nose.

judging by this country, more than a serial rapist would get...

btw, a man "stole" a teddy bear left at the shrine for the little girl last year when this happened...

Andrew Joseph Fancy (28) stole the cuddly toy from a memorial to three-year-old Levi Bleasdale, who died after the accident on September 9th, in Ormerod Road. Burnley magistrates were told how the defendant, who had raided Burnley parish church on the same day, might be targeted by members of the public wanting to have "more than a quiet word with him".
Fancy, of Branch Road, Burnley, has admitted burglary at St Peter's Church, on September 12th, theft and two allegations of committing a further offence during a conditional discharge. He was remanded in custody until October 19th for an all options open pre-sentence report.
