I am curious as to how people who believe there is no genetic component explain this:

As a group, black Canadians are poorer, less educated, less healthy, more likely to be unemployed or in jail than virtually every other racial or ethnic community.

Thing is that this is not only true in Canada, but the entire western world. It is a simple result of inferior genetic potential, as a group. They are simply less able than other racial groups and thus find themselves at the bottom of the Multicult heap. It is true as I also said earlier in that same thread, you could remove the word Canadians and this would be an accurate reflection of the black condition throughout our nations. Yet, it seems whenver people speak about these problems, they speak almost as though these black problems are unique to their particular nation. You get, for example, people who try to explain these problems, in America by blaming a legacy of slavery and segregation, which falls very short of explaing why blacks have exactly the same set of problems elsewhere.

What in your mind accounts for this? If it is racism why is it that blacks in particular are always bottom of the barrel, below that of other non whites, some of whom do come to our nations and prosper, despite this supposed white racism that holds back "people of color?"

Here is an article about the crime rate of young black men in England and also another ever persistant pattern of young blacks being from fatherless homes. The point of the article is to blame the former on the latter, but like is so often the case, the question of why young black kids are so much more likely not to have a father figure in their life is not asked or answered:

They are more likely to be responsible for, and victims of, gun murders.

The Commons Home Affairs Committee, which has carried out the first study linking young blacks and criminality in a quarter of a century, said deprivation was a major factor in the high level of offending.

But its report said the large number of black children growing up in a single-parent household with no father figure, was also a key contributory reason.

According to the study, 59 per cent of black Caribbean children were in single-parent families, compared with 22 per cent of white British children.

For mixed white/black Caribbean children, the figure was 55 per cent, for mixed white/black African 42 per cent and for black African, 44 per cent.

The report said that in the absence of a positive male role model many young black men chose to emulate negative and violent lifestyles popularised in some forms of black music, such as rap, and in films. MPs were told children had "father hunger".

"Many witnesses said that an absent and disengaged father had a negative impact on young people's development," the study said.

The committee was also told that some black parents were afraid to take action against unruly children. One witness said: "One has a syndrome which is almost like Lord of the Flies, where the adults have gone from the camp and the children are left to get on with it."

Disillusionment with the police was blamed for revenge attacks and youngsters carrying weapons such as guns.

"Lack of confidence in the criminal justice system may mean some young black people take the law into their own hands or carry weapons in an attempt to distribute justice and ensure their own personal safety," the report warns.

The study follows a series of killings on and by young blacks. The committee highlighted the stabbing of Damilola Taylor, ten, in 2000 and the gunning down of Letisha Shakespeare, 17, and Charlene Ellis, 18, in a gang feud in Birmingham in 2003.

Recent cases include the killing of Tom ap Rhys Pryce, 31, a white lawyer, at the hands of two black teenagers.

In February, three black teenagers were shot and killed in 11 days in South London.

The MPs suggested that "safe houses" should be set up to provide a refuge for gang members who want to escape lives of crime.

Ministers should look at alternatives to full exclusion from school for troublemakers, they added.

Instead, the Department for Education and Skills should develop "internal exclusion" schemes where disruptive pupils are allowed to come to school but are kept in a separate classroom.

Committee chairman John Denham said: "We think there needs to be closer attention on the way we can enable young people to escape from involvement in criminal groups and criminal activities.

"Safe houses were one of the ideas that we thought was worthy of study. Young people's behaviour changes and there are many cases where young people who will have been involved in crime will wish to move out of it.

"There is a practical challenge about how we support a young person who wants to move out of it if they are living in a community where varying factors work to draw them back."

Three-quarters of the young black male population will soon be on the Government's controversial DNA database.

A spokesman for the Commission for Racial Equality said: "We welcome this inquiry and strongly support its findings. It highlights longstanding inequalities experienced by young black people.

"Poverty, social exclusion, educational underachievement, and the lack of role models, are all areas that we have been concerned about.

"When faced with such a huge, insurmountable barrier of disadvantage it's hardly surprising that some young, black boys turn to crime as a way of life."
