Tamil protesters storm Sri Lankan Embassy in Oslo

OSLO – Police say Tamil protesters have entered the Sri Lankan Embassy in Oslo, smashing windows and destroying office equipment.

No casualties were immediately reported.

Police spokesman Tor Groettum says about 100 demonstrators joined Sunday's protest of the treatment of Sri Lanka's treatment of its ethnic minority Tamils during a military offensive against Tamil Tiger rebels.

Groettum says the demonstrators went on a rampage before police intervened. He says police couldn't immediately identify who had been responsible for the damage.

No arrests were made.

On Sunday, Sri Lanka's leader ordered a two-day suspension of the offensive against the rebels to enable tens of thousands of trapped civilians to leave the war zone in the north.

I had gone around hoping for something like this to happen, since muslims trashed downtown Oslo during the bombing of Gaza.

The police had made a deal with the tamils, that as long as they kept it orderly, the police would go and do something else.

But as it is always with brown people they become aggitated and forget their word.

Each time it happens though, racist gets more ammunition, while the ones who claim we are all equal shuts up for a while.

You can't allow protesters to overrun a embassy and the Oslo police should of shot them. The good news however is that the Sri Lankan's are on the verge of eradicating the tamil vermin's main breeding ground!

Its interesting in the kind of coverage this conflict gets, on the rare occasions it actually gets covered.

The Palestinians aren't all that unlike the Tamils, who are a minority living among a majority that rule the country and do in a biased manner against the Tamils. So, the Tamils want their own homeland and the majority government has been crushing them over it. Even with suicide bombings galore (they invented them), the international press doesn't demonize the Tamils - either the movement or the people - even though numerous countries consider them a terrorist organization.

Letting tamils prove to all that they can not be held to their words like responisble adults far outwheighs one embassy destroyed.
