Every time I try to write in French using accented characters such as 'é', pressing the appropriate numpad code (in this case alt-130) redirects the forum to another page instead of producing the desired letter. This hasn't happened to me on other forums, nor on any other page as far as I can tell. Can this be fixed?

I'm not sure if this will be any help but I've typed é before using alt-0233 (note the leading zero) instead of alt-130 and never had any problems.

Apparently there are 2 sets of keycode mappings.

Hmm... it's still redirecting me. Maybe it's a problem on my end? Does anyone know?

Aha, turning off numlock seems to prevent it from doing that when I type the shorter codes for é, ç, è, â, etc. but not for the longer ones, such as alt-0224. On the other hand, having numlock on seems to allow the longer ones such as à. :p How weird/annoying. Is this exclusively a problem on my end or does the forum have something to do with it?

Do you have NumLock off on your numeric keypad?

Perhaps you are triggering one of your browser's keyboard shortcuts when you hold alt and type the code.

Edit: I see you tried turning on NumLock while I was typing my reponse.
