Malkin and Datsyuk are two of the best players in all of hockey, right after Ovechkin.

Red Wings in 6

The Red Wings will sweep em! :bbbat: When it's 3-0 Red Wings the Penguins will still not increase their penalties and they won't have one fight.

Guddammit. Even Wings who don't score in the regular season do now, and Osgood is sterling as usual.

I wouldn't normally root for a Pittsburgh team, being from Cleveland and all (big rivalry), but it's funny to see Detroit lose, so I can't help it this time.

Go Penguins!

Go Team Canada! 16 Canadian players on the Pens (8 Americans) vs. 9 on the Wings (6 Americans).

Ahem.

(Though I gotta admit that the Wings have had me second guessing that off-the-cuff prediction)

Side Note: As I was thinking about this reference I found this.

He doesn't look like he should be on the ice; he looks like he should be running the media and telling the liberal kiddies what to consume.

Are the Detroit fans booing Gary Bettman, the fact that the Penguins won or a combination of the two?

I'm glad that Pittsburgh won, but I wouldn't have been angry if Detroit had - both great hockey towns, both long on hockey tradition.

Thanks O'Zeb. The demographic for the Pens here is young and younger and that bodes well for the erganization. Still room for us oldsters who remember the first expansion and Jean Pronovost and Andy Bathgate.

Just great trading Cups with the Wings. Outstanding hockey on both sides.

Detroit doesn't preserve much of that. Illitch's Red Wings operate on an import-based model sharply contrasted with Pittsburgh's Canadian/North American farm model. 15 European players on Detroit vs. 5 on Pittsburgh. No coincidence Pittsburgh is the favourite among Canadians, despite being the less traditional team.
