View Full Version : Sulla's POV + Moderator Censorship

Today I posted the following cartoon. Certainly it is not jocular and is in fact quite politically serious. Sulla the Dictator chose to delete this post on the contrived grounds that it was off topic and low brow. I strongly disagree and consider his action an abuse of power on this forum. What say you all?

What thread did you post the topic on? "Old Fashioned" anti semitism is tolerable, LF style retarded kookery and belief that these ragheads are our friends ie sand wiggery is stupid so nothing relating to the palestinian "plight" should be posted unless it relates to the topic.

Not surprisingly, Hugh isn't being honest.
He posted that in the Holocaust debate thread. I EDITED it so that it was a link instead of an image. Its off topic, since its a jab at Israel, and its low brow, since its a cartoon.
With a decapitated child.
He then re-edited it, restoring the image. I deleted it because of his refusal to accept moderation, not because of the image itself.

Posting things related to the palestinian plight does not neccessarily say one believes the ragheads are our friends.

LOL hes an LF whiner, that debate thread operates under strict no off topic rules.

The reasons for editing were valid, the re-editing by Hugh Jorgen, thus ignoring the Modīs action, were not. Before re-editing Hugh Jorgen should have asked here for clarification if in doubt.

By the time I returned last evening to this thread, I saw that it had been closed.
I'd like to thank Ebusitanus for reopening this thread to allow my response.
There were some accusations presented and I didn't have a chance to reply.
There seems to be three issues that have been challenged by others about this original post.
It's off-topic. I disagree for the following reason. The subject although on the surface appears to be
about the Palestinian/Israeli issue, it is actually about something else ..... paradox.
It's about the age old conundrum of semantics as it applies to any and all debates about things Jewish.
Whether it is the Holocaust issue, Israeli foreign policy, world banking or Hollywood and the media it
always comes down to the typical and expected defensive scream of anti-semitism regardless of facts.
This "cartoon" directly addresses that with irony.
It's low-brow. I disagree. The graphic is certainly not jocular. It's neither humorous nor childish in any way.
It makes its point of the frustration of semantics very simply and effectively. I don't consider something
low-brow simply because it includes a graphic, why do you?
With regards to my re-edit .... well, just chalk that up to not knowing the Phora rules of how to defend oneself.

Now today another situation has arisen.
On the subject of "Stolen elections", Charles Martel in failing to make his point chose to post a childish ad hominem directed to another poster.
I chose to call his BS.
He chose to delete my post without reason other than to say that it pissed him off.
Is this proper behavior of an Administrator on a forum that invites different POV's?

Sigh. You've been bitching towards two members of the staff now before reaching your 100th post, and you seem surprised when that ticks them off? First it is Sulla for deleting inappropriate content, then you start to whine about a perfectly valid question directed towards Ymir: namely what his credentials are to make such a bold legal statement. I'm sure you're a sensible person and all, but you need to stop whining about the staff all the time. It's already gotten old.

I really am interested in what you have to say on any subject as long as what you say isn't just a jab at the post author. I would like you to take the time and respect to submit a thoughtful intelligent response of any counter-point. In other words - deal with the content and not the poster.

This is about the election thing probably. When I see wild unbased claims coming from people with no background that would suggest they know what they speak of and no credible source that suggests that someone qualified thinks the same thing, I tend to get skeptic. So far, all I saw that tells me that election was stolen are the claims of a few guys on the internet, one of whom I know is a teenage stalinist who, while being smart, does not have the background to argue convincingly against the rulings of the supreme judicial body of his nation, and some website from a conspiracy nut bitching about 'fascist takeovers'. If you desire replies with a little depth, put something worthwile on the table to which people can reply first. ;)

I did, and dollars for donuts, you didn't read it. Because if you did we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Yes I read it. A rant from some madman about businessmen in the Republican Party's pocket who made sure democracy will be gone for a few generations, that fascism will emerge, a list of those poor Democrats who lost the election due to fraud, and above all: very little sense. This discussion is over. Post something worthwile and you'll get a reply.

This is wise.
