Oz is clearly the greatest show ever produced. If you are not disposed to that proclamation please leave us alone.

This is one of the few shows I have personally watched which does not shy away from racism, and often implies that racism is the natural order of things, something rarely portrayed on TV.

The focus on identity is one of the shows defining characteristics, something which always appealed to me when I came across it, but regardless of all that the show is simply ballsy.
