A phone in on the economic crisis said that the Irish should get down on their knees and say to Britain " We have run the place for the past 80 years and we have made a balls of it , please take us back".

Cerberus is far too obsessed with the Hoaxcaust and WWII for his own good. He's also a bit too old to be pushing the Commando Comics version of WWII.

Intelligent people don't do 'phone ins'. I've never heard an intelligent person 'phone in', 'text in' or 'email in' into a 'show'. Maybe it happens once a decade.

But mostly it's this fellow:

What a refreshing change to hear the truth. Of course Irish remained free to move to the UK - a popular choice. Still Ireland has been propped up by the EU for the last few decades, which prevented everyone from emigrating and its reversion to a 3rd world country.

At the time of the Partition there were a lot of loyal/Protestant/Unionist Irish of one sort or another spread around the Republic, and they seemed to mostly dissappear, intimidated into silence I suppose.

Ireland was never able to rule itself or advance economically or technologically under its own steam, the Irish just squatted in their bogs until the Norse came to introduce civilisation. Everyone knows that Ireland was better off under British Rule. However things are so degenerate now we can't go back.

We'd sooner take the EU then be absorbed by America's latest acquisition.

People aren't really allowed to be intelligent on those shows. With all the talking over one another and the annoying technical difficulties a person has a lot of of trouble getting his point across. It's really only in studio guests or hosts that get to say anything worthwhile.

On another note I heard that George Hook on Newstalk about a month ago saying "maybe we Irish were meant to be poor" when he was talking about the NAMA business. He was only a quarter joking, judging by his tone. What kind of self-defeating nonsense is that?

At the national level nothing is served by "phoning in". You might create some action on a local issue, granted, but with a national issue, no. Normal people realise this, what's left decides to "Talk to Joe". If an idea slips past that first line of defence the inferior presenter, who's a system loyalist, will, on reflex sabotage!

Have you heard his advert where he begins by solemnly intoning "We aren't as rich as we once where..". With such great gravity and weight of speech, I'm thinking he's going to advertise some charity or some public ideas symposium. Then the rest of the ad is devoted to him flogging a Sky Digital package at cut rate prices. He's a particularily infuriating Ivory Tower fraud.

Yes I heard him talking nonsense about getting more women into politics. That Balik woman and an American Jewish academic were his guests. Old George just sounded like a hen-pecked old fool wanting to keep peace at home by agreeing to anything.

All of these state broadcasters have far too much of a choke hold on their country's national conversation. The BBC is just massive for example. Any person wanting to simply be an active part of his own country's politics has to stay sweet with these state broadcasters or he can pretty much go look for another way to make a living or spend his time.

It is remarkable how it only takes one. Someone could do a comedy sketch on one of them crash landing on an alien planet and getting into their "heal the world" act almost as soon as he'd changed out of his spacesuit.

For example, many of the changes in family law here (all bad) were down to another one of them who got busy in the 90's. Bacik wants to replace the constitution with a new one that gets rid of God, the family, and brings in her favourite hobbyhorse - slaughter of the unborn. These people always seem genuinely surprised when they are finally run out of town, as has happened a great many times in the last two millenia, everywhere.

This Bacik is thoroughly Jewish and sickening. She has no place in Ireland. Should be thrown out like the trash she is.

The bit about them that really takes the cake is the way they want to get into a mud slinging match but no one is allowed to throw any at them. They can get into the "centuries of Church abuse" or "a culture of" this or that but no one is ever allowed to turn around and discuss their provenance.

Ah for Christ's sake Basil I thought it was drop dead funny - the man was making a judgement on how badly the South had been run and the amount of money which had been pumped into the banking system.

or you could speak to that nice Mr. McGoring at the "Bell and Compass" I understand he knows of a chap who will hire him bombers at a fine discounted rate.
