No, I don't see any reason for individuals in the 21st century to apologize for things other people did in the 19th and earlier centuries. The fact I adhere to the self-evidently obvious truth that race is a very real phenomenon (as, so it often seems do you...you just are somewhat unwilling or unable to determine, and/or act upon whatever that significance may be), does not require me to believe that some person is responsible for what their "ancestors" did (a Hell of a lot more White Southerners are descended from indentured servants ie., White slaves, than are descended from plantation owners).
