Ray Bradbury was born in 1920, so I think my vote for him stands me in good stead, in so far as winning this pool, as it were, goes.
Here's a picture of him in 1975, for crying out loud: Anyone who looked like that 34 years ago, you'd expect to be dead by now. The truth is, I suspect James Garner may well be next on the list...but I just didn't have the heart to cast my ballot accordingly.

There's a lot of strange men in Cell Block Ten, but the strangest one of all, was a friend of mine who'd spend his time, poasting in the Showt Bocks... ![]() "John Adams is a hideous, hermaphroditical character, with neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman." --Thomas Jefferson "There are so many people role-playing around here, that a person feels stupid even talking to them as if they're serious. It feels like arguing with a theme park character as if he really was Captain Hook or Tinkerbell." --Errigal |

I want you to follow Mr. Rockford. Make sure he has a very serious accident. One that'll take him off the case...permanently!

I was going to update this thread with the death of Bradbury, but it seems Cronkite beat him to the punch (as did Harry Morgan and Mike Wallace).
