Tinley Park is a real quiet suburb - its a big settlement community for families, some old folks, low on diversity and the like.

I don't know anything about this group that got Jap'ed by the local Anti-Fas contingent, but there's a tendency of racialist and nationalist groups to cultivate an air of ''respectability' to the point of absurdity. This invites attacks from their enemies.

Middle aged guys in suits eating catered food in local banquet halls isn't exactly a deterrent to attackers.

I think above-ground organizations are a bad idea for all kinds of reasons, but if people want to congregate this way, its imperative that they have a security element present for when things like this invariably happen.

There's plenty of guys with sympathetic views who'd be happy to work floor security for these kinds of events. The trouble is that most of the suit-and-tie WNs are image conscious to the point of neurosis and recoil in horror at the prospect of ''uncouth'' things like bashing anti-fas heads if necessary.

Five charged in mob attack at Tinley Park restaurant



Five men have been charged in connection with a mob attack at the Ashford House Restaurant Saturday in Tinley Park, officials said.

The melee Saturday at the restaurant appears to have been the work of protesters who wanted to attack a gathering of alleged white supremacists, the mayor and a law enforcement source said previously.

Tinley Park Police Chief Steve Neubauer said all five men are charged with aggravated battery, mob action and criminal damage to property. The group includes three brothers, Jason W. Sutherlin, 33, of Gosport, Ind. (98.60% White, 0.42% African American), Cody Lee Edward Sutherlin, 23, Dylan James Sutherlin, 20, and Alex R. Stuck, 22, of Bloomington, Ind. (87.03% White, 4.24% African American), and James S. Tucker, 26, of Spencer, Ind. (98.52% White, 0.20% African American), are also charged, he said.
